Someone (I think it was FujiBlueSi) mentioned that Microsoft is planning to drop the price of the 360. I've heard news of the contrary from Gamespot.com... http://www.gamespot.com/news/6153170.html but at the same time, I've heard, from a different source, that they're not dropping the price, but instead including an HD-DVD add-on to offset the PS3's blu ray. |

I plan on doing the same thing. Once the PS3 hits the shelves you can expect a small price drop in the 360, so I'll pick up my 360 and then wait until the following christmas to buy my PS3... or maybe just check out ebay and pick up the 360's that people are selling to buy a new PS3. :) |

Blu-ray can hold more than HD-DVD.

If you think about it the PS3 is a bargain for 600, cuz most blu-ray players are 1000 bucks right now. |

All blue-rays are 1000 right now... at least from what I've seen . But I bet by December they'll have to go down to 700. It's amazing how much thoses disks hold too... 4 layers.... 25 gigs each. I definitely want to get a PS3 but I too am worried about the whole Betamax aspect.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betamax Maybe though... neither will fail. Betamax had large backers and VHS had tons of smaller ones right? With both HD-DVD and Blue-ray having huge backers... why would either back down? Maybe they will just coexist like satellite TV and cable. I can't wait to see how Gran Turismo 5 will turn out though... especially on a 73" flatscreen. Not that I have one... |

ps3 should be good....plays blu-ray.
anything more about that blu-ray.....you can be sure it'll pick up,a ton of movie studios are backing it up,there tired of how easy it is to "back-up" the movies in normal dvd 1.0 format(in turns,blu-ray,hd dvd is more money in there pockets)..... im not even going to pick up a 1k dvd player...a waste...wait till 2007,then you'll see the 4x better picture then dvd....blu-ray and hd dvds arent even making the 50 GB dvds....its only under 20gb space with movies right now,so nothings happening, dont feel left behided yet...plus dont u think dvd already is a big step-up from VHS tapes??? |

Last year, as a Best Buy reward zone member, I was able to reserve a 360 but I didn't. I could've kicked myself after seeing them going for nearly $1000 on e-bay. I'll definately pick up at least one, if not 2, PS3's this year to make a quick buck on them. If all else, I can just return them if they don't sell within a week. I'm banking on this being able to pay for my airline tickets to Disney World this Christmas. Otherwise, I've got an 11 hour drive... ![]() |

Better get your asses on line guys cuz this ain't gonna be easy. Everyone knows that they cut the shipment to only 400,000 units for launch so its gonna be an ugly thing, 360 all over again. Reason is because of production of the Blu-Ray lasers is slow.

xbox had better graphics, faster load times (in most cases), smoother gameplay, and internal memory. IMO, xbox owns ps2. Just like I think that xbox360 will own ps3. Sony is really playing their devoted fans for fools, and I don't think a lot of them will stand by them for it. $600 for a fu**ing game system?!?? Someone above mentioned neo-geo.. sounds about right. Quote:
+1.. I really have a lot of respect for apple as a company that has lasted through being one of the first computer companies. I remember when they're only real competitors were IBM and Tandy. I personally don't like using apple os's though.. they so user friendly that they confuse me at times. But an apple game system? Guarandamnteed to own all and cause many-a-divorce. |

Disclaimer: I have a 360, and I quite enjoy it. I'm anxiously awaiting Forza Motorsport 2 and the next GTA, but I've been quite impressed by MotoGP 06, and a few other titles. As for Apple... it's entirely a possibility that they could come up with something, but I think it would be extremely hard to get developers on board considering just how tightly knit they are with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. Maybe they would also only have one button on the controller
