Revised Short Shifter Install Manual

Hi Guys,

We have had a few customers contact us regarding the blue plastic cup removal during the installation of the short shifter. It seems that some people have had issues removing the cup and have damaged it in the process.

We have designed a special installation tool to simplify removal of the cup and to prevent any damage to the cup. We have revised the installation manual to show step by step how to use the special tool, as well as how to remove the console for the base bushings install.

Here is the link to the revised installation manual: http://www.twmperformance.com/manual...all-manual.pdf

All orders are now shipping with the revised manual to prevent mishaps with the blue plastic cup.

The short shifter can be order from the following link, and all install manuals are also linked from the bottom of this page: TWM Civic Short Shifter

For some reason, I can't see the pdf because my computer freezes up. Anyway, I used the tool and used an open-ended wrench to lever onto that tool for more leverage. Came out quick after that.

This manual is anti-n00b. I wish I had it when I installed mine.
Good stuff!

Wow! I may actually install my shifter base bushings now.

Didn't realize that the console came out so easily.

Thanks!

If you were part of the first crowd of people who did it -- we all found out the hard way that it was cake to remove the console. I did the whole install in about 40 minutes, after losing the blue cap, having to take off the console, and accidentally putting the holding pin on the wrong way -- and two test drives. All before going in to work.

I have never had troubles using the open end wrench alone, but it does work better with the special tool. It provides a larger contact area on the blue cup so there is much less chance of damaging it while removing it.
