type r knob and stock shifter boot question

I installed the weighted type r knob with the ss kit. I was wondering if I was missing something due to the stock shift boot not attached to new shift knob like the stock shift knob would be.

No, these do not have a locking "collar" for your shift boot. So they won't fit anything like your stock EX/LX/DX shift knob. An easy solution would be to wrap up your shift knob tight with small rubber bands, and have the larger threading of the Type R knob swallow that excess length.

Conversely, get a new shift boot from an Si or something.
