Blue cap

Broke the blue cap while installing the short shifter, any way to get a replacement cap? Do you know where I can find one?

The bushings and the short shifter work great, just the need to cap to finish it off. Thanks TWM

We've had a couple of customers who have needed these cups recently, so if anyone happens to damage one during the install let me know by PM and I can give you details on how to get a replacement from us.

Thanks,

Kevin

Just a fyi on the replacement white cap. I put the white cap on the SS today and saw that I couldn't get the shifter into 2nd, 4th, 6th and Reverse. I took it back off and noticed that the white cap is slightly thicker on the top than the blue cap, so the shifter arms would stick out a few mm farther and hit the shifter base not allowing to engage into those gears.

Easy fix would be to swap the other blue cap from the left side, put that one on the lower SS nub and put the white cap on the left nub since it wouldn't matter if it was a tiny bit taller since there isn't anything to impede the shifter.

Anyways, it should be all set now. I appreciate the fast response it getting out the replacement cap. Thanks

Hi Spinitch,

Thanks for the heads up. We have revised the design of the cup to clear in all gears now.

I'm glad to hear that putting it on the side arm solved your issue.

Also, to prevent damage to the cup we have revised the install manual to clearly show how to use the special tool to remove the cup. Here's the link to the revised manual: http://www.twmperformance.com/manual...all-manual.pdf

All manuals can also be downloaded from our short shifter page here: TWM short shifter

Thanks!

Kevin

when you shift to gear 2 and 4, does the black cap touch the console (with B marking) there?

Which black cap? The stock caps are blue and the ones I received from TWM were white. The white caps were a tiny bit bigger so they hit on the console in the 2,4,6,r gears.

Are the black caps the newer the revision from TWM?

no no.. The black cap that I'm referring to is the one that holds the blue cap on the transmission lever.

I believe you are referring to the black shifter cable housing that surrounds the blue cup.

Our short shifter puts this shifter cable housing very close to the shift assembly, but it should not make sufficient contact to be be noticeable while shifting.

Thanks,

Kevin
