SS Package

If I buy the 06 TWM SS w/ base bushings right now, then is it possible for me to purchase the cable bushing later? Thanks. Also, which helps more with a more crisp shifting? the base or cable bushings? thanks!

Hey man!

Yes you can purchase the cable bushing later, no problem! =]

If you want a crisp shift feel, you need the cable bushings..! It definitely makes the shifts more solid and direct!

If you have more questions, feel free to email us @ : sales@twmperformance.com

A+

Most people report a more noticeable difference with the cable bushings, although the base bushings remove flex from the assembly as well. I find both bushings to be ideal since the cable bushings remove flex from the shifter cables, while the base bushings remove flex from the assembly. If budget is an issue and you have to choose one set over the other, you would probably want to choose the cable bushings.

The bushings can be ordered separately as well at this link: TWM shifter cable and base bushings

Thanks,

Kevin

On my SRT-4 I had booger bushings and you had to remove the battery and there was the shifter cables on top of the actual transmission that you had to pull off and replace the bushings in there and also the 2 on the shifter itself... is the Si the same way or no?

The Si is actually different. The bushings at the transmission end are replaced with our shifter cable bushings just like on the SRT-4, but there are no bushings to replace on the shifter itself like on the SRT-4.

The Si uses a different system to attach the cables to the shifter, it is basically hard plastic cups instead of the rubber bushings like on the SRT-4. It is for this reason that we developped the shifter base bushings (which we also make for the SRT-4) to replace the rubber bushings beneath the shift assembly with aluminum and result in a more direct shift feel.

Thanks,

Kevin

How big of a difference does the cable bushings make vs. just the Ss itself?
