problems with my SS

help!

installed the short shifter adapter and base bushings. worked perfect install was easy. had just that in my car for a week no problems...i dont think

yesterday i decided to install the cable bushings, air box removal was somewhat of a pain but i got it off, .. installed the bushings according to the instructions, ... now today when im in neutral and wiggle my shifter side to side, it gets stuck when i move it to the left and it goes back to neutral by itself.. feels rough like a grinding feel. did i forget to lub my cable bushings? or was i suppose to use something from my stock bushings? this is crappy

Its supposed to go to neutral by itself when out of gear. The sticking and grinding, no clue.

Hi civic_coupe,

Did you loosen the 3 bolts that secure the shifter cables to the tranny while sliding the cables on to the bushings? The cables go on fairly tightly so it helps to loosen the 3 bolts to avoid scratching the bushings or inside of the cable "ring". If the cables were forced on crooked that could be the issue. Try spraying some lube on the bushings and see if that helps.

If you can't locate the source of the problem take a few pics of the install and send them to sales@twmperformance.com. I'll take a look to see if anything is installed incorrectly.

Thanks,

Kevin

The shifter is hitting something. Remove the battery and make sure that the bushings are clear of everything.

I have heard of similar problems when CAI was installed w/ bushings.

If u have CAI check if it is not rubbing on the bushings.

CAI (cold air intake)

mine's installed from TWM performance and i got the bronze bushings (cable) and shifter bushings the whole kit, and the shift knob and I'm fine. Can you post some pics of your engine bay? Up close I'd like to see and compare to mine.

Cool, I'll check out the pics when you get them up to see if anything looks out of place as well.

Thanks,

Kevin
