Exclamation Need Help/Advice

So I installed both the TWM SS and the base bushings. Along with the AMSoil synthetic MT fluid I put in, it made all the difference in the world. Awesome to drive now!

However, during the installation of the short shifter, I slightly cracked the blue cap on the end of the linkage ball. It did not break, and it still held on the end of the short shifter assembly, but I was able to push it on and take it off by hand. I ordered a replacement cap from TWM, and while I waited for it to come in, I put the slightly damaged blue one back in as a temporary fix. It drove great, no problems.

When the replacement white cap arrived, I removed the shifter, took the blue cap off, and replaced it with the white cap. Like the instructions said, I had to use a vice to get it on; it was much more secure. So I happily re-installed everything, and test drove it, and then it would not go into any of the bottom gears (2, 4, 6, R). I checked to ensure the adapter was all the way on the shifter, and it was, because there was a mark on the shifter showing where it was previously. Anybody have any suggestions? Is the new cap causing the issue? I had to take the adapter off, and I'm thinking about selling it if I can't figure out a way to fix it. Thanks.

did you make sure that the short shifter is on all the way? If you haven't pushed it all the way onto the shifter it may be hitting the housing when you go to shift, thus preventing you from putting it into any of the lower gears.

I would say take the shifter boot and housing off the try shifting through all of the gears. See if the shifter is getting caught up on anything.
