Ok so I've had my SS on for a week now and I love it! The ppl at TWM are great and provide great service and the product is of great quality! I only have the SS installed and the throws are much shorter and somewhat more precise. I am sure that getting all the bushings would have made shifting more pleasant but the SS alone did not disappoint.
Was getting lowering springs installed today so i was driving my bro's ex sedan (same as mine, but bone stock) and as soon as i got in and put it into gear it made me laugh. The throws are SO long and SO imprecise it really took me by surprise. I would never go back to stock, and driving stock shifter + stock knob vs countersunk weighted knob + SS back to back really makes me realize how good this mod has been. Shifting with SS and knob is a little bit "heavier" and "notchier", but IMO it makes you feel much more connected to the car as you get a better feel to the whole thing! Installing it was also a piece of cake, with the provided instructions it took me seriously about 10 minutes! Thanks again TWM for great service and product, feel free if you guys have any questions! |

Gonna be buying another one for my mom's boyfriend when I head out there in March. He just got a 08 RBP FA1 on my advice and he loves it.

If you don't have a vice, you can use a risky but effective method: a rubber coated hammer. Simply grease the SS, then put the cup on a table, carefully place the SS on top of the cup, make sure everything is aligned perfectly then give the SS a swift little hit with the rubber coated hammer and it should do the trick!
That's what i did and it went down perfectly, you really don't need a great amount of force just a nice little hit. |

So...got the full kit for my 07 FA5!
Outstanding customer service from Frank. Install was straight forward with decent instructions. The M1 Abrams shift knob is oustanding. I got the engraved satin finish, and it looks great. All the other finishes look great also, so its personal preference. Anyway, the most important part - the car drives even better. No vibration, shorter more precise shifting - freakin' outsanding! Love it. If you are considering - you need to go ahead and order....I sat on the fence too long and what helped me was the M1 Abrams engraved group buy. I am so glad I got it. ![]() ![]() A+ for TWM..... Last edited by jcusmarine; 09-29-2008 at 10:07 PM. |

just got and installed my SS and all the bushings took about an hour to do. and it feels great. little bummed about slow shipping (about a week and a half ) but i guess thats that happens when you ship from the North east to the south west. and i had mixed feelings about the international transaction fee from my bank
but it was worth it.

I just go home from Afghanistan 2 days ago and got around to putting the short shifter and Knob on today. It is amazing, much better/shorter shifts and the M1 knob looks pretty sweet and has an amazing feel.
