Just installed my short shifter and M1 Abrams shift knob.....WOW!! Originally I just wanted the short shifter (I really like the stock knob actually), but kept reading people saying how the M1 knob makes all the difference. Without a doubt, it made it 1000x better. So easy to drive, still incredibly smooth, but so short I barely have to move. I LOVE IT! Job well done!

Hi TechJunky,

Thanks for the great review! It's good to hear that you enjoy the short shifter and shift knob, the M1 Abrams is definitely the most popular shift knob on this forum. I think it looks great in the 8th gen Civic!

Have a good one :)

Kevin

I purchased the complete kit for my '07 DX-G a while back and have only installed the Short Shift adapter till date. I have to say it is a phenomenal piece of hardware and well worth the money. I can't wait to install the base bushings and cable bushings.

With that said TWM, I was just curious if you manufacture your adapters & knobs in Quebec?

As my car's a R18 I was wondering where I could purchase the locking nut and shift boot ring for the Si? I purchased a weighted Type R knob as well, but it just isn't working with the stock R18 boot.

I know that you make leather shift boots for the 8th generation Civics and I'd like to purchase one with the parts listed above.

Thanks again for the great products and service.

Yesterday was the first and second I have dealt with you, and both times you responded in about the time it takes me to blink. I am very impressed with your customer service and have just placed my order for my short shifter/base bushing/cable bushing combo. I cannot wait to get back from Afghanistan and put these parts on along with my shift knob I bought from you yesterday. Hopefully I will finally be able to find the third gear in my freakin SI

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your great comments, customer's satisafaction is really important for us and we like to hear your feedback!

CobraKing, all our products are manufactured in-house, we're located close to Montreal, Quebec province!

As for the leather shift boot and boot retainer, I know for sure that the shift boot retainer that we sell for Subarus, this one:

TWM Shift Boot retainer

will fit the Civic Si TWM shift boot. One of the reason we do not sell this shift boot for the non-Si Civic was the fact that the stock shift boot is connected to the shift knob, so our shift boot would not connect to the stock knob.

However since you have a Type R TWM shift knob, the shift boot with the boot retainer would most probably fit in your car.

Let me know by private message if you have any other questions!

Thanks,

Frank

Placed my order. Just waiting for the E-Check to clear then I should have it in a couple days. Customer service is top notch. After I placed my order I wanted to change my shipping option and there was no problem with that. I haven't seen customer service like this on a web based store in a loooong time. Great job.

I have a Corsport short shifter and cable bushings and the M1 Abrams shift knob. I can say without a doubt that these two things increased the fun of the car and the shift feel 1000x over stock. The knob is very heavy, and since it's countersunk it's a good 3/4 to 1 inch shorter than the stock knob, making for an even shorter shift. It's extremely solid now.

I installed my short shifter and bushings yesterday and the shifter feel is amazing now. The throw is shorter but not to short that mishifts happen and it feels very solid. My favorite upgrade so far. I would recomend it to anyone.

how tight is it....notchy or mechanical feeling. is it hard to put in gear? i wanted a SS, but not at the expense of having it feel crappy.

It's more solid. It is slightly notchy, very similiar to stock. It is very easy to get into gear and with a weighted shift knob it pretty much throws itself into gear with a little flick. Don't worry it is very much not crappy. I highly recomend it.

TWM,

I recieved my M1-Abram Gunmetal shift knob and I have to say...........................

You guys Rock!! Thanks for the hook up on the Bushings Frank! I got everything installed today and it all works great. The shifter cable bushings and base bushings definately make shifting feel more solid and is a must buy IMO

The shift knob is incredible in design, appearence, and practical use. It sits so freaking low as I have it threaded all the way down. I actually had to modify the plastic ring that sits on the top of the shift boot to make it go down all the way. Its not too big and not too small and the weight of the knob is perfect! To anyone in the market for a good shift knob, TWM custom knobs are by far the best in quality and looks. Thanks again Frank and TWM

TWM FTMFW!!!!!!!!

6 month review. I have the SS and full bushing kit with a Skunk2 knob

So far I have done 11K with this mod on, and its still the best mod that I have ever purchased for this car and its gonna take a lot to change my mind on that.

Every shift is still as crisp and clean as was when I put it on. I have actually had the Honda Techs tell me that they prefer this to the stock Civic shifter feel.

Once again I must thank TWM for this wonderful product.

Ordered an M1 Abrams 6 speed engraved shift knob (gunmetal)

The packaging was crazy for such a small product rofl. I love it though, since its held in tight to prevent any damage during shipping. The knob looks great and comes with detailed instructions. Although I didn't receive a decal, which doesn't matter much to me.

Communication with Frank was A+ customer service. He always has the right answer for you and sticks to his deadlines.

Thanks TWM performance

Awesome, thanks for the props! I was a little concerned when I started reading your post until I saw the "I'm disappointed at the fact that I didnt buy it earlier!!!"

Glad you like the shift knob, I have an M1 Abrams in my car right now too and I love it!
