it was at this wedding with a lot of family..and long story short this polish kid around 21 years old was being an asshole to his girlfriend which was my moms neice...and since my mom was pretty drunk, she got violent after he dissed her and mocked her in polish..she beat the crap out of him and chased him out of the place where the wedding celebration was at...i was at the bathroom completely clueless until i come out and i see a random terrified canadian running away from my mom...it was the shit!

i can see it taking 10 mins for just the adapter. but with the cable and base bushings i would add 20 more mins. its exactly the same for an ex as an si, there is a DIY in the forums, helped me out alot. i just recommend taking the whole console out, makes it so much easier.

SS takes 10 minutes.

Base bushings, your looking at 2+ hours if you drop one. I should know lol

What is the benefit of the bushings? Can you tell a big difference? I am thinking of installing one of these as well and I don't want to get the SS and install it, then realize I should have purchased the bushings as well.

You don't really need the base bushings at all. To tell you the truth, I bought them, and can't tell any difference at all. If you want to buy some bushings that are TOTALLY worth it: Buy the shift linkage bushings. Best $30 I've thrown into my car yet. You can really feel the difference between the rubber, and aluminum bushings. It makes the shifts feel so much more crisp.

You're the first person I have seen that hasn't given the base bushing props. I mean, you are entitled to your own review, but everywhere I've read, everyone says they make a huge difference. I haven't gotten or put them in yet, but it's all in the plans for the near future. I'm just surprised by your review, that's all. But thanks for posting, good and bad comments are always helpful.

I've also heard a couple of people say that they're a waste of time. They say just go with the cable bushings. the base bushings require you to take out the center console and don't do much. I'm gonna get them anyways, just b/c.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the input about the base bushings. I personally feel a difference with the base bushings installed, but I guess everyone is different. The shifter cable bushings definitely do make a more noticeable difference than the base bushings, I have yet to hear from anyone who says the cable bushings do not make a huge improvement.

Thanks!

Kevin
