LOL, I had the same problem. That oval piece of metal that isn't mentioned anywhere in the instructions. Well, it's the "Blue Cap Removal Tool" in case you want to take off the SS sometime later when you sell the car and part it out. So it's nothing important and you can put it in your tool box for when you want to pop off the blue cap from the short shifter.

Been driving with the SS and all the bushings now for 3 days and overall I like it a lot. More precise shifts and definitely a shorter throw. A well worth mod in my opinion. The only thing I don't think was worth the agrevation were the Base Bushings. Those were a pain to get installed and not worth the trouble in my opinion. Next time I would get the Short Shifter and the Cable Bushings but not the Base bushings.

Other than that a very worth while mod!

As Tom1222 pointed out, this is the cup remover tool. It can be used in the future to remove the blue cup from the short shifter if you decide to remove it at a later date if you sell the car for example. This tool can also be used during the initial install to remove the plastic cup, although it is not mentioned in the install manual. We'll update the manual to mention this tool, thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi pineapple,

Sorry about the order page, it is a little confusing due to the limited space in the drop down menus to describe the full short shifter and shifter bushings. If you want to order the short shifter with base and cable bushings, you would choose one of the following options in the drop down menu depending on the year of your car.

If you have a 2006 Civic, choose the following option in the drop down menu: "With '06 Bushings Combo (+$48.90)"

If you have a 2007 Civic, choose the following option in the drop down menu: "With '07 Bushings Combo (+$50.90)", this is the last one in the drop down menu.

Once you have chosen one of the above options, you can select the shift knob from the drop down menu below the text:
"Add a weighted shift knob and SAVE $15!!"

To select the Type R shift knob, choose "Classic series" from the left frop down menu, then choose Type R from the right drop down menu, and the last step is to choose the finish you would like from the menu below.

Following this you can click on the "Buy Package" button and you will be taken through the checkout process.

Here is the link to the page to order from: http://www.twmperformance.com/shorts...rtshifters.htm

If you would prefer to order over the phone, feel free to give us a call toll free at 1-877-655-0540.

I hope this helps,

Kevin

Hi,

You do get a $15 discount on the shift knob if you purchase it with the short shifter, base and cable bushings. The price breakdown is as follows:

Normal price for each purchased separately:
-short shifter ($84.95)
-base bushings ($24.95)
-cable bushings ($32.95)
-shift knob ($99.95)
TOTAL when purchased separately - $242.80

Price when all bought together at the same time:
-short shifter ($69.00)
-base bushings ($19.95)
-cable bushings ($28.95)
-shift knob ($84.95)
TOTAL when purchased together - $202.85

You can see from the above breakdown that you save about $40 when purchasing everything together. The shift knob can be added at the bottom of the short shifter page here: Civic Short Shifter and Shift Knobs

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi,

Although the sale officially ended May 1st, I just checked and the codes still seem to be active for a couple more days.

Thanks,

One of the Best Mods I have done to my car
It doesn't increase Ponies but it does make shifting more enjoyable.
