i just got mine, woohoo. they were suppose to come in tomorrow, but made it today. i already installed them. the only bad thing is now i am getting a cel from taking my intake off. i didnt even remove the sensor from the tube. as for the ss and bushings, they work great, but i am getting use to the shorter throw. great product so far. now i just have to figure out how to get rid of the cel.

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 to 10 minutes and then reconnecting it.

In addition to disconnecting the battery and waiting for a few minutes, you'll have to re-enter the code that the stereo will ask you for. I've done quite a few installs over the past couple of weeks and we always have to disconnect the battery at the end to reset the CEL.

Got mine 2 days before UPS said I would, had some time, installed it. At first I looked at the adapter and thought, how much is this really going to help? WOW, was I surprised. Definately worth the money!!! Bushings are a little tricky, gonna need a friends hand.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear you like the short shifter. Getting a friends help for the bushings is a good idea. I usually try to work with an assistant, it always helps :)

i just removed the console. its real easy, four screws and two pops. then it just slides back. that makes it so you can get your hand in the right position, slide the bushing into place, and then use your other hand to insert the bolt a few twists.

I got my kit a few days ago and installed it right away. I also took off the center console, it is so much easier with this out of the way. I put in the bushins and ss adapter, after putting it all back together my shifts feel really clunky, the shifter it self makes a lot of noise and it feels really notchy. Did i do something wrong or is this how it is supposed to feel?

suppose to feel that way. as for the noise, not much out of the ordinary, just a little more of a "mechanical" sound when shifting. it should be similiar to an s2k

Installed mine today - WOW what a difference!
I am impressed.
And - just in case you are wondering - yes, I did drop a bushing into the center console - but it was really easy to remove.

I like.

This may be because the SS adapter was not pushed all the way in before you tightened it - or maybe it moved when you were tightening it. It moved on me several times while I was tightening. Mine feels fine now.

Glad to hear the install went OK and that you like the final product!

The shift feel with the short shifter and shifter bushings installed will feel more mechanical, but it shouldn't feel or sound really clunky.

As MellowGato pointed out, just make sure the adapter is pushed on all the way and tighten it down.

Thanks!

Kevin

Ok, so i FINALLY got the shifter kit/bushings last night and installed them today. Install was relatively easy, definitely recommend removing/pulling back the center console. Doing this made the install much easier. I also installed the cable bushings. I would say installing the short shifter/base bushings and cable bushings took about an hour total. Test drove it after I installed and it feels great. It definitely has shorter throws and feels "tighter" all around, and it does have a more mechanical feel to it. All in all definitely worth the money and the wait. Thanks to TWM and Kevin.

I personally really like the feel of the short shifter installed with the base bushings and the cable bushings, basically the whole package. My opinion may be biased though :)

Honestly though, about 90% of our short shifters are sold with the base bushings, and about 75% are sold with both the base bushings and cable bushings. I just wanted to give you an idea of what others feel is useful based on what we're selling now.

I hope this helps, feel free to give me a call at 1-877-655-0540 if you need more info or just PM me.

Thanks,

Kevin
