are the short shifters only being sent after a batch of them are ordered or are they shipped out when ordered?

The initail "pre-order" group were all shipped out on the same day, but now we are shipping them daily as they are ordered.

Thanks!

I just bought the shifter base bushing kit since I already have the Comptech SS. I'm anxious to see how they work with the CorSport metal bushings on the transmission (whenever I get another snap ring for the large bushing).

The TWM short shifter does fit the EX as well. The bottom section of the shifter assemblies where the short shift adapter are installed are identical on the Si and EX.

I hope this helps.

I installed the TWM knob and it is HOT! literally...in the summer it's a bit warm, but not unbearable. love it...have it screwed down as far as possible on the stick. it's nice & heavy, and NO it won't void your warranty.

We do not have a discount specifically for the forum members at this time since the intro sale is still running, the short shifter is already pretty heavily discounted. We do have a 10% Student discount and a 10% Military discount though, not sure if you fit either criteria but if you do you can visit this page and find out how to get them: TWM Student and Military Discounts.

Also, if you would like to sign up to the TWM Newsletter you will be entitled to a 5% discount on any of our products simply for signing up.

Thanks,

Kevin

I'm glad to hear you like the shift knob! Here's a picture of a TWM satin Type R shift knob installed in an Si for those of you who are curious, the weighted type R weighs over 400 grams and is available at a discount when purchased with the short shifter:

Thanks!

I hope this helps:

The 2006 Honda Civic short shifter is also available with optional billet aluminum bushings to provide a more solid contact point between the shift assembly and lower mounting point to remove unwanted flex or play in the stock shifter. These bushings retail for $24.95 plus shipping when purchased alone, however they can be added for only $19.95 when purchased together with the short shifter.

That is directly from the link to the short shifter and bushings page.

Thanks Yodums, that's exactly right. Basically the shifter bushings remove one more source of flex from the shift assembly for a more direct shift feel. So far, the vast majority of 2006 civic short shifters we have sold have been ordered with the base bushings.

Just a question, so please don't take this as offense or anything.

What distinguishes your short shifter from CompTech or other offerings? What would be the advantage of getting yours (aside from supporting a board sponsor, and thanks for that!) over theirs?

Hi ChloroFiend,

No offense taken, I can certainly understand why you would be curious.

The TWM short shifter for the 2006 Civic has similar stats to the Comptech, they both reduce throw by 22% which is the maximum amount the shift assembly allows for, and are adapters that attach to the base of the stock shifter. We felt that this design was the simplest possible while achieveing excellent results, as did Comptech.

You may have noticed that we use a different design to attach the adapter itself, where one bolt squeezes one side of the adapter to secure it to the stock shifter. We feel that our design achieves the desired effect more elegantly than a 2 bolt system. Our short shifter also has a lifetime warranty, as do all of our short shifters. In addition, we include loctite to secure the bolt used for securing the adapter and a special tool to remove the blue plastic cap from the adapter itself if you decide to remove the TWM adapter at a later date (if you sell the car for example). TWM also includes the allan key to install the adapter, in case you don't have that particular size in your toolbox.

Another difference between the TWM and Comptech is that our short shifter can be purchased alone, or for only 19.95 the aluminum base bushings can be added to create a more direct shift feel. In addition, a weighted shift knob can be added at a discount while purchasing the short shifter as well.

TWM's weighted shift knobs not only create smoother shifting due to a greater mass than the stock shift knob, but are also height adjustable and can be set to reduce shift knob height resulting in a sportier appearance and feel. We offer several shift knob designs in many different finishes, all of which can be added to the short shifter while ordering with no additional shipping charges.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Kevin

Trust me, I'll post my thoughts on the kit when I pop it on the car.
