M1 Abrams Shift knob with engraved shift pattern for Civic Si Group Buy!
Hi everyone,
There is a great deal of requests from members for our popular M1 Abrams with the 6 speed pattern engraved. We were running tests during the last few weeks, and I am very pleased to announce that we have completed testing and the finished product looks amazing! We’ve also designed a clever way to perfectly align the shift pattern using the provided insert, no need for stuffing the inside of the shift knob with paper towels! Check out these pics (featuring the M1 Abrams RL compatible sitting on a Civic shifter, the standard M1 Abrams looks exactly the same): Also featuring the new Civic Si shift boot with red stitches! Satin finish ![]() Flatblack finish ![]() Satin finish again ![]() Stainless finish ![]() Gunmetal finish(featured in a 2004 STi) ![]() Flatblack finish (also in a 2004 STi) ![]() We are currently in a production run of these shift knobs, so they will be available to ship in about two weeks. Right now we only have 15 units that we will be engraving. The available finishes are pictured below: ![]() Please note that the engraving has to be done before the satin or black finishes are applied so the engraving will also be the same color as the shift knob. For example, a Gun Metal shift knob with engraving will have black engraving. Please also note that the stainless finish will be available as soon as the production run is done, but for a Gun metal, Flat black, Mirror or Satin finish, there will be about a 2 week delay since they need to be sent away for the finishing process. We have had requests for coloured engraving as well, however we are not able to offer this at this time since it would make managing our inventory very difficult. If you would like to paint the engraving yourself, it should be fairly straight forward since the engraving is pretty deep... We are also working on different shift patterns for other cars like the standard 5 speed Civic, we will keep you guys updated as we have the technical drawings ready to begin production. The M1 Abrams normally retails for $99.95, plus $25 for engraving, and $13.95 for UPS ground shipping for a total of $138.90. For this initial group buy we are offering them engraved for $125 shipped with UPS ground anywhere in Canada or the USA, in the finish of your choice. Please note that residents of Canada will need to add 5% GST, and 7.5% QST if you are in Quebec. Since the majority of our customers are in the US, there would be no additional tax to pay. As I mentioned previously, we will be able to begin shipping them in about two weeks. Please PM or post any questions here, I'll do my best to answer ASAP. Please post in this thread if you would like one, post your username and what finish you would like. How To Order: We have not added this option to the website yet, so to order you can send paypal payment to TWM with the following information so we can prepare your orders and send knobs to the appropriate suppliers for finishing. So the Gun Metal will have black engraving not gun metal engraving. How much does the insert raise the knob? Could you maybe lower the shift boot enough to see the shaft and take pictures of the knob with and without the insert for comparison. These knobs look great! I realy like the font/engraving style. Very classy. |

Hi Rolow,
Thank you for the comments on the engraving! As for the color, what we mean is that a satin knob will have satin engraving, a flat black one will have flat black engraving and a gunmetal one will have gunmetal engraving. Our gunmetal finish is kind of a reflective black, that's why we stated the engraving is black on that finish. Concerning the height of the shift knob, it will sit virtually as low as the standard M1 Abrams shift knob. It could be higher by about 60 thousands of an inch (0.06") to perfectly align the engraving, a difference that is not really noticeable when you have your hand on the shift knob! Let us know if you have any other questions! Thanks, Frank TWM |

Hi Si2Typ3R,
The M1 Abrams shift knob is threaded 1.75" deep, it sits as low as virtually every spherical shift knob on the market. What you see on the pictures in the first post is basically as low as it can be, it could go down maybe 2 or 3 threads more. Frank TWM Performance |

the gunmetal pic looks different in your engraved pics then the one in the picture with all the color finishes. picture looks actual gunmetal but doesnt show the true color of it due to its reflection and the color finishes picture makes it look almost black. can i see a picture of it outside of the car and not in sunlight?

The gunmetal finish is actually hard to picture, since it's a reflective finish. The picture with all the finishes are taken in a "studio-like" environement with only one light source so there's less reflection so it shows the deep black finish. The gunmetal is a reflective black finish, so the picture in the STi is accurate of what the finish will look like in the car. Thanks, Frank TWM Performance |
