Well...220hp, or 220whp? There is a big difference.
I assume you mean whp. If thats the case, its hard to say. You have auto or manual? How good a driver are you? How high above sea level do you live?
Given perfect conditions, with a good driver on a manual, with good tire...I would say 220whp would probably put you at a very low 14. I say that because with about 210 in the Si, you are seeing deep 14's...You might see a 13. Dont exactly know how much the sedan weighs.

Huh well that depends, where people talking about 220whp or 220hp when they where talking about stock internals. So Iam talking about with my stock internals which ever one. I am a good manual driver but mine is and auto.

hey i just had gone to a friends shop, hes the master in custom turbo kits here in Monterrey, Mexico... he recomend me a GT25 or a K04 for my R18A1 and no more than 5 psi because of the compression of my stock engine....
also he quote me an estimated price of 20,000 pesos... thats about 1,700~1,900 dlls. installed
maybe ill give him my car in january, first i need to pay it...
what do you think of what he told me

$1800USD for about 40whp. We have 140whp stock, right? That sounds like a good value. Supposing it's possible.

more *money. right? not more hp. anyways, I'm going to stop posting to this thread. maybe even stop reading it. sounds like lots of time, R&D, money, and more time before we get anywhere close to a turbo.

A supercharger. That's what I'm more interested in.

the above statement is far from true...a supercharger and turbocharger are both difficult to deal with in this situation if you want it done correctly. Have you seen the gains on the comptech s/c? Not too impressive in my book, but that's because it also is not an easy task when it comes to developing new products for a new vehicle.

Turbo/Supercharger are both a while down the road for the R18...and i'm honestly happy I decided a while ago that my car will be paid off and my warranty up before I delve into forced induction with my FG1.

Our cars have 140hp at the crank, not at the wheels.
5psi is pretty low. Compression is what he is going on? I guess hes never seen a boosted stock internal K20A2, or even K20A. Those things have higher compression than we do, and they are running 8psi safely. Dont be scared to run the same if not more on a stock engine.
I believe our compression is comparible to the other honda SOHC motors (I think...) in which case many of them are running 12psi daily without a problem. 5psi just isnt worth the time or effort.

Hey, Iґm new here, just "discovered" this board...hehehehe......and Iґm looking for some info to build up my own project.

Iґm from Brazil, and here things here are a little different from US, Mexico or any place else....I whish I could have what you guys have, my carґs engine would be already turbo and I would be happy as a kid inside a candy store...LOL...

Anyway....de R18 is a completely different engine from the D17, you canґt compare them both at physcal way, they just look similar (appearence).
Couldnґt find any aftermark ECU for it...AEM hasnґt developed one yet, and itґll probably took a good time for them to do it....so, Iґm gonna do what I can, donґt have the same resources that you guys have.

Gonna take the catalist converter and install a K16 there....first lambda before K16, second lambda after K16. All the pipes will be pratically hand made. My only preocupation is that the R18A uses MAF sensor and not MAP sensor. Even that, Civicґs MAP sensor admits a variation form -13 PSi (negative preassure) to 10PSi (positive pressure) without any problem....but what about the MAF sensor? All the research Iґve made shows that all honda vehicles have this MAP configuration....and since the air pressure is completely relative to the air flow (more air flow, more pressure), itґs possible that the R18 uses a similar config....

This is my ONLY DOUBT regarding this, all the rest Iґve already decided what to do, bought all parts, turbo adapter to the header is already being made...if any of you guys has any ideia or some info abou the MAF sensor and gap pressure that the R18 ECU admits, let me know.

Sorry for the english....hehehehe...

Cheers

when and if they make a turbo for a R18

- New ECU
- New turbo unit
- Hoses & connections
- Wiring
- New turbo header

I believe this would be as a Kit form/

for an R18 engine would make no sense?
The Si model was this extra cost on a LX/EX model, So id have to
see a 250+ HP after the bolt on before i spent 3k on a Turbo?

but...who knows if nothing else makes an R18 anybetter then
a 3k turbo kit with 200HP...then maybe then? i dunno?

its still frustrating to see them giver on the Si models leaving
the R18 out. I understand that we have the ECO cars but still
come on peeps? makes us some **** for a R18 sometime?
