I would imagine a full kit will probably take a while to come out for the R18, but I know a lot of people will just put there own kits together which could happen a lot quicker.

The only thing you really need that is specific to the car is the manifold...other than that everything can be done custom.

lol...I forgot about that little caveat.

yeah, the manifolds are the 1 of the 2 problems with a turbo setup. Having a custom one made can cost a lot, but can be done from a good shop. The other is engine management.

you still need to tune the engine..and sometimes having the stock ecu can still limit you to doing certain things. That's why Hondata has the Kpro which basically takes over the stock ECU rather then be a -piggy back- unit

You would more than likely need greddy e-manage ultimate to tune our cars.

If you are interested in the manifold let me know...log style manifold for less than $400

I'll be interesting the the manifold pipe but I want to wait until the whole setup is on a car and they have driven it for a bit so I can see how reliable its going to be before I start building one

I would say 240-260+ WHP should be perfect if you mod your car. Even 230-250 is fine too.

Total's gonna cost way more than $3K...

Factor in stronger pistons, rods, valve springs and retainers, an intercooler and custom piping, boost controller, fuel management, return fuel system and larger injectors and fuel pump, tuning and everything between all of that that I forgot about and you're looking at close to $6-8K. And that may or may not include installation fees.

Everyone keeps forgetting about all of this stuff. For the power you guys are trying to make, you can't just slap a turbo on and go. If you were using a K20a2 or a K24a2 or K20z3 or one of the stronger engines, you probably wouldn't have to worry about internals. Being the #1 engine supplier, Honda makes the stoutest engines in the world but, the R18 was never meant for anything more than getting from point A to point B, in as many miles using as little gas as possible. The engine needs to be properly balanced. Increase hp and you'll likely need to increase something else. Turbo's require maintenance and the stock engine just ain't gonna cut it.

Now if you think that's too much, you probably shouldn't be looking at a turbo anyway. But keep in mind that while you're paying an extra $3k for other parts, you're looking at $3k for a brand new engine (block and head) everytime you blow it up.

Not trying to scare people, but do it right the first time and you won't have to worry about having to do it over and over and over.

Peace,

Tee'
