Agreed. I was surprised his clutch went out at that power level. Have you upgraded your clutch on your set up aLmk? Im at 58k on the stock clutch sitting around 320whp and it seems to be holding up fine.

I have an exedy stage 1. Only reason I don't have stock is my stock one was ruined due to the pedal being adjusted incorrectly and I effectively 'rode' the clutch down the drag strip. The exedy stage 1 has held my 375whp on pump gas very effectively for about 5k now. I was making a little over 400 on race fuel and it didn't slip with that either.

My car has 90k miles with about 20k on the stock clutch at 490whp, and it just slipped badly for the first time a few days ago I think it has alot to do with how your turbo comes in and how you drive

Didn't you also recently start using a 4 port solenoid? I imagine that improved your spook a bit making your power come in earlier.

Yeah I did, but I had the 6spd with it as well, I spool about 900-1200rpm quicker in lower gears. When there is a lot of load in higher gears like 4th and 5th it was less noticable maybe about 500rpm or so

So the 5 speed spools the turbo faster?

I was saying that the 4 port is why I have quicker spool. If I have quicker spool because of the 5spd its negligible

There are a lot of variables, but the greddy snail isn't good for making huge high end power. Even if you run 10psi, you will get a good mid range but it will taper off up top. You can't make much over 300 without upgrading the turbo.

Thanks bro I just want to make at least 285-300whp at this point going anywhere past that the turbo probably won't last lol.

I appreciate the help I was thinking that too, I was planning to upgrade later on (dont trust myself yet with too much power) so 300 should be good for me....but if I change the turbo would I have to make another DPipe tho?? It was ***** fitting the TSi manifold in there the guys had to cut pieces to make it fit snug--it was the reason it took a little longer to get my car back from the shop!

The downpipe should fit. I bought a 3" downpipe from a member on here that he had custom made on his greddy setup (greddy turbo and manifold) and it fit my setup just fine (tsi manifold gt3076-iwg)

^yeah that A LOT of people on this forum dd turbo cars. If you use quality parts use a good tuner and don't drive like a total idiot you will be fine, I dd my car at 550whp, 3 months down a lot to go. I was at 417 for a year previously.

Seems the stock clutch lasts A LOT longer if you don't let a dyno tuner abuse the **** out of it.

Well you were the one driving, not Vit.

What I was getting at is that dyno's are really really hard on clutches. The load is so much different than the street.
