I am looking at a car that needs a new Clutch. I have messed with cars for a long time even auto trans (mod and replace) but never done a clutch before. How hard is it overall?
It would be on a eclipse.

I'm not sure were you get $300 from. My shop would usually charge about 8 hours for a clutch in a honda at the rate of 87.50/hr. Lil more than $300 . Plus tax plus the clutch and flywheel plus the fluids and disposal fee(s)

What tools do you have? Provide a list and we can tell you what else is needed. Are you planning to do the install in your garage on jack stands?

I've done the clutch job a few times on jacks in the garage. At a minimum, you will need some air tools and a transmission jack to make the job easier.

Yea, I agree. I changed another member's clutch and the PICs were somewhat similar. The member's clutch was worn just like in the PICs, but the clutch disk itself had several other issues (center gear was out of whack and the disk itself suffered several stress cracks resulting in a failure of the tension springs).
