^^ I did it myself in the same time that it took me to change my oil... Very easy honestly!

Yes it's easy to do it, but just a pain to do it sometime.

putting 10w30 is fine, they say to use this only when its your last alternative. the 10w30 with have the same consistancy but it wont have the extra modifiers for the synchro's in the tranny. I used amsoil and its working better than what i got from the dealer. and im still considering the Gm synchromesh. but i might try using the new white cap honda fluid

I apologize if this has been asked already but is it ok to use Royal Purple MTF? I already use their 5w30 oil, but I'm getting the dreaded 3rd gear grind so I wanted to use the MTF too.

Anyone have any ideas where to get the GM synchromesh other than the dealer? I checked Advance Auto and PeP Boys - no luck.

Thanks. I'll check out the Pennz. Wonder if Napa carries it. I'll check tomorrow.

I would like to know how the Royal Purple gear oil works for you. I also use RP 5w-30 on my 08 si, and wanted to use the RP gear oil.

I used RP 5w-30 synthetic in my tranny, it says that you can in the manual (for an SI), I noticed a world of difference in the feel of my car. But if you buy gear oil, make sure that the viscosity isn't too high, otherwise you'll have some problems!

Whoo, changed my MTF with Amsoil this evening. 50 minutes from walking into the garage, jacking up the car, draining and filling with Amsoil, lowering car and washing hands...mind you at a leisure pace. Just like changing the oil. Took it out for a spin and it does smooth out the shifts/makes gear selecting smoother. Recommend it.

I see a lot of people using Amsoil Manual syncromesh tranny fluid, but it says not you use with lsd. Reading good feedback but don't want to ruin my tranny.
