I got a new socket wrench with a longer handle on Saturday and that did the trick. My transmission was definitely overfilled because fluid started pouring out the second the fill bolt came off. I made a mess of things, but hey, I've never changed fluid under the car before.
Buying the Amsoil MTF has been without a doubt the best $24 I've spent on this car. Within a few minutes I could feel the shifting get smoother. I can still feel some notchiness going into third, but there's no actual resistance. I haven't grinded and it hasn't popped out since. It's not perfect, but it's so much better than before. Well, I'm happy for now.

Wife called and my Amsoil MTF shipment just showed up. I know what I'll be doing first thing Saturday morning. I'm getting a little soft in my old age.....I try to limit my winter wrenching projects to just a quick oil change or a NASCAR quick tire rotation.....and I even have a nice indoor garage that the temp never gets much below 40 in the dead of winter. However, I'm willing to get a little chilled for this project.
I feel for you guys that are forced to wrench on your cars out in the cold!!! |

Off topic, nice Sig P239 in that picture below your user name. I have P226 in .40 cal. and I'm trying to get my brother to go with the P239 over a Glock 19. |

I only had jackstands behind the front wheels so the car wasn't level and I got about 1.75 liters in.
BATANG CITY JAIL, your car was level since it was on a lift, so how much did you get in? |

I love my Sigs, I have the P239 in .40 and .357. IMHO a better choice than the Glock. |

oh by the way... i didnt have to lift the car at all lol.
took me like an hour, but i did it just by laying on the ground and reach for the bolts. it just took me a while to figure out where the drain and fill bolts were. if you lay parallel to the front of the car and look through the bottom splash gaurd you can see the bolts at certain angles also, it took the entire 2 bottles (2 quarts total) to fill back up for me... by the time i was emptying the 2nd bottle the fill hole started dripping a little. |
