on K20A.org I think there is a thread on how to fill it from the top. There is a sensor that you can un-bolt and fill slowly from there.. . I've never done it that way but I hear it works well.

booya! Remove This Sensor For Easy Tranny Fill??? - K20A.org .:. The K Series Source . Honda / Acura K20a k24a Engine Forum

you can use the VSS sensor or the back-up light sensor. I guess the VSS sensor is easy. I still reccomend taking out the fill hole bolt to tell when you have enough fluid in the tranny though. If you can't get the fill bolt out, just measure out 1.3quarts and filler up!

Negative, as stated in previous post.

I'm not 100% sure what it takes to take out the VSS but I don't beleive it's tough from the sounds of it and there is no need for any calibration after taking it out. You just have to wiggle the sensor around a little to make sure you get the gears meshed properly and then torque her down. Maybe for thw squimish you do a sanity check before you start the car up. Just put the car down off the jack stands and put the tranny in gear and have one friend roll the car forward and backward while you listen for something lol! Hear nothing, cross fingers and start her up!

I want to change mine next week and i want to use royal purple. Is the fluid the same as engine oil because when I am on the royal purple site and I choose manual trans and look down the list for honda MTF it shows Royal Purple Transmission Lubricant Chart
10w-40 synthetic engine oil? I am pretty noob but this seems wrong. (I have an 07' fa5)

Just changed my mtf last weekend in my si and i used a long clean hose and filled from the top of the wheel well as my buddy held the tube in the fill port for me ... seemed to be a pretty easy process!

I went with Royal Purple Synchromax and it made a considerable difference in smoothness ... Alot of people were having problems powershifting into 2nd as did i and this mtf free'd that up so now i can!
