I bet the previous owner of my Si didn't do none of these... No wonder I wasn't impressed with the Si's shifting.. thing grinds & 3rd pops out.. Definitely one of the first things imma do along with a TWM SS to get this baby straight!

Also, you DO recommend the MTG on a 250wtq setting OR regular "racing" right? Cuz i'll be boosting this thing in the future
Thanks!

how long does it take to change your transmission fluid? I'm thinking about finally going Amsoil Sychromesh. My second gear pisses me off.....

It is jst like making a coil.

Cool little trick How long will it stay magnetized, or do you have to do this every time you remove the bolt?

The magnetism does wear down after a while but not where you would have to keep doing it..

It only takes a second to do it.

Yes, 2 Qts will be sufficient... You may want to get the pup AMSOIL offers as well... It screws right on their bottles..

As long as you just flash it a few times, there is no problems..

But ain't this a "common" problem with the '06 Si? Also, my VIN doesn't fall into the "recalled" Si trannys posted somewhere in the forum. I'm pretty sure with with the Amsoil or Redline MTF + TWM SS + bushings = should definitely improve, if not eliminate, the notchiness and the grinding. I got the car used, and more likely, the previous owner didn't change the tranny fluid.

BTW, thanks BCJ for the DIY.

a pup i think is a cap that goes on the bottle to make it easier to pour. i think it is cheaper too. may go with one of those and save some money to spend on other car stuff

There is a much easier way to fill the transmission with fluid. Get a clear tube and pass it through the engine bay. One end will go directly into the fill hole. The other end will be exposed in the engine bay. From there you can use a funnel to pour the manual transmission fluid. You will most likely need a buddy to help you.

Ok guys......i just received my 2 Quarts of MTF Amsoil Synchromesh today that i ordered from the Amsoil website. Oddly, the bottles I receive says Amsoil Synthetic Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid but doesn't say SAE 5W-30 anywhere on the bottle like the ones on page 16 of this thread. The invoice that came in the box says "Syn Manual Trans Fluid 5w-30." Is this ok? I'm probably just over concerned but I love my SI!
Thanks.
