I used Redline MTL and have no complaints. I used it for track days and had no problems.

I am going to use AMSOIL. I am gloing to take it AAMCO to ensure all the old fluid is washed out.

You can get it done for $100 with this link...

anyone know if your supposed to change it when its hot? alot of cars are supposed to be at operating temp when you change the tranny fluid wasnt sure if ours were the same or if it mattered.

Yup. You'll get a more thorough drain.

I like to change Manual trannies and differentials hot or at the very least, quite warm..

Engine, at the most, warm, sometimes even cold...

With Manual trannies and diffs, if they use a gear lube, They will be thinner at operating temp. Most people don't know that 75W-90 and 20W-50 Motor oil are the same viscosity at operating temp (212)

As far as changing the engine oil cold or warm, all the contaminants are in the crankcase and not distributed through the engine.

What I consider warm is after driving long enough for the engine to be at operating temp and then changing after cool down for 2-3 hours which will help with oil hang-up.

I did three manual transmission changes (all 8thgen si's) in my garage using a jack and jackstands in under an hour and twenty minutes. I was taking my time- these were my friend's cars and we were doing a lot of talking.

in the garage or on a lift, changing the transmission fluid in the Z3 is way easier than changing the oil. Not that the oil change is hard, because I don't think it is.
