Can anyone confirm on if the short shifter stays with short shifts along with the bushings/cable bushings?

In my 99 GSX, I had a b&m short shifter along with a greddy shift knob and cable bushings/ console bushings.. it felt unbelievable at first and was that way for about a week until it all of a sudden just felt the same. I think its just me but would like to hear reviews on how peoples SS kits are lasting after a certain amount of miles.

I'll definately be picking up TWM's SS kit no matter what when money comes in. I can't see who can drive without a short shifter...

It's purely psychological, shift a stock civic and you will laugh at yourself.

I've got the base bushings and a shift knob w/ SS, would getting the cable bushings add any noticable difference?

Yes, the cable bushings make the shifter crispier than a stick of celery.

Well said, thanks :)

The cable bushings do make a very noticeable difference, they remove a great deal of vagueness from the stock shifter set up by replacing the stock rubber cable bushings with solid bronzoil bushings.

Just got my short shifter today. Installed in less than 20 minutes. Shift action feels a lot shorter. Install went great, the package that comes has everything you need for the install; loc-tite and even the allen wrench you need. The tool to remove the blue cap was a life saver. I also used the little metal tool to held the adapter into place while I tightened the allen screw. I am very happy with my purchase!

Had mine for over a year, and I don't see the difference anymore. But like e60 said, I'm totally used to it. However, when I fiddled with KraziAzn's knob (pun intended) in his R18...I can definitely feel a difference!

Actually, even with another stock Si, there's a big difference, even in just the base bushings...it feels more spongy without them.

Yeah, I've had that happen with all of my cars as well :)

I'll install a short shifter that feels awesome, but once you become used to it it feels normal. Only when you try a stock one do you realize the difference...

...

Mine came in and great packaging as well like in the pic above. Didnt know I could order that lowering thing by itself without a knob I would have gotten one. Unless the knob just want in the pic above. I'll definately try to remember to post a one liner review when I'm done.

I installed my entire kit today took me about half an hour for everything (base bushings, short shifter, and cable bushings) i did take my center console out from the get go b/c i knew i would drop something and i did a coulpe of times. I love the new shifter i used to miss 2nd on a regular basis now its right there. One other thing i would like to add is that the cable bushings are made out of brass which i thought was interesting meanging that it will last longer with brass being a little bit harder than aluminum. All in all awesome product twm very well thought of product 110% satisfied with quality of parts, very impressed.

Well, that's very nice from you.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new short shifter!
