Yeah, what about the Leather Wrapped Shift Knobs? I am still waiting on those. The stock knob isn't bad and does have some weight to it.
But a little bigger and a better looking one would be cool. I don't like that dip latex stuff. The only latex I like is when my girlfriend wears a Latex Mini

I bought one of the TWM shift knobs I forgot why I was waiting to buy a new shift knob... it was because I was waiting for the leather wrapped ones to come out. Oh well... I like my bombshell

Installed mine, Had to remove center console cuz I dropped a bushing... .Definitely great feel... even my friend who has a S2k was impressed... but the throw reduction really on feels it affects 1st-2, 3-4th, and 5-6th... the upward stroke feels the same... sorta strange to get used too... he even agreed it felt like we were in neutral on the downward shift... doesnt feel unilateral. Just odd to get used too.

Well i just got done installing my base bushings and short shifter. REMOVE THE CENTER CONSOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dropped one of the little metal rings from the original bushings in there before I removed the console and I could not find it after I removed it. How troublesome will that little thing be?

Don't worry about it. I dropped an entire stock bushing in there rubber and metal and couldn't find it after removing the console. It is lost forever in the black hole of the Si Center Console

just ordered the TWM short shift kit with base and cable bushings. also bought a lightweight shift knob. I'll let you know how it turns out when it all comes together.

Why would you order a "Lightweight" Shift knob? You want a "Weighted" Shift knob to assist with better shifts.

Well if you think a heavy knob is gonna make you feel more secure then go for it. I've driven with both and I know what feels right to me. When I'm ripping through gears I feel no benefit with the added weight. I know where the gears are. It's not like they are going to be in a different place the next time you shift.

So don't put words into my mouth. I am doing just fine with the stock knob which is actually weighted as well. It just assists you in a more positive shift feel rather than a flimsy, cheap light weight knob.
It has nothing to do with the location of the gears.

Alright, I don't know where you are going with your arguement but as I said before it's all up to user preference. Some people like the shifter feel when it is weighted because the inertia of the heavy knob assists in engaging the gears. Others, myself included, find no benifit using a heavy knob for two reasons. One, a lot of the shifter feel is lost with a heavy knob. Two, I can't stand the metal knob because it gets extremely hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. Having to change the way I hold the knob due to temperature change is not my idea of fun driving.

Not sure how shifter feel is lost by using a weighted knob, but okay..
Plus there are leather wrapped weighted knobs so you don't have to combat the cold and the heat from a Metal knob. Each their own. If you get a light weight knob you might as well buy one from Autozone or Walmart. They are about 15-20 bucks and are plenty light weight.

I need some help.

So I was installing my TWM SS....when The little blue plastic piece cracked. Does anyone know where I can find one? Can they be bought at a auto part store or do I have to get one at the dealer? It still works for now but is very touchy. Thanks for the help.

I don't think you will find that blue plastic cap anywhere but the dealership. How the heck did you break it? Let me guess, trying to pry it off from only one side with a screwdriver

Close...I was prying it off with a wrench but I caught the whole thing at a bad angle and it snapped.

Yup, that thing was a pain to get off. I am sure it can't be that much to replace . Hopefully it comes by itself and doesn't have to be ordered as an entire shift assembly, that would $uck

Your best bet is probably from the dealership. If you can't get one from the dealer, PM me and I'll see if I have a spare in the shop.
