You should be fine.

Take your shift boot off and you should be able to work in that space.

I'll also provide a testimony to just how helpful some sticky tack can be when installing these bushings. A bit of that stuff to hold the bushings to the shifter as you're placing the others worked absolute wonders.

Those come stock in the Si. I really dont know but Honda might sell them, check n see. I know cause they came with mines.

My girlfriend got my the TWM short shifter, metal bushing, and the weighted shift knob for christmas. Let me tell you, it feels incredible!!! Driving is just a blast!! I now often find myself downshift instead of putting the car in neutral coming to a stop. lol.

it's so much more precise in the shift, very little effort to put it into gears, and the metal bushing stop that spungy feeling of the shifter. It's a must upgrade for all civics.

That is correct, the TWM base bushings replace the black rubber bushings and the steel insert inside them.

This is the comment most people make after the install ... metal bushings take away the spongy feeling while shifting.

Just got done installing the ss with bushing. I did it in my driveway. It was not that hard except is was too dark outside. Well after i got done ,I took a test drive before i put the center console back on and it feels great. I was in a hurry to put everything back. After i reassemble everything i find out my 12v adapter in the center console is not working. I guess i need to take it apart again tomorrow to see what went wrong.

It is possible to install the base bushings without removing the center console, with a little help from an adhesive. I usually just put a piece of "fun tack" on the bushings and secure the bushings to the underside of the shift assembly, then place the shift assembly with the holes lined up and bolt it down. Some people have used a drop of super glue to hold them in place while working as mentioned earlier in the thread. If you do not have quick access to any of these, just unbolt the console and back it up several inches to create enough room to work.

Im going to be ordering the SS and bushing's here soon when I get some cash. I would love to get the Type R shift knob with it too, but for $100 for that seem's kind of steep for a hunk of metal...

I got my TWM short shifter and bushings installed today... It actually wasn't so bad (except for the black and white pictures!!) I had to go online and look at their color photos... Overall, it has a pretty nice feel to it. Next step MTF! BTW... Thanks for the quick shipping! Placed the order on Monday and got the package on Wednesday!

Just installed my ss/ and bushings last night at work. Shifting is a lot more stiff, and crisp. I've only driven it home from work so far, but I know I'm going to love it.

Well, I went ahead and got the SS w/ Bushings and the Type R... :)

But... Seem's that you guy's are out of bushings so I got to wait till the 7th till you guys can send them out.
