Install must have been done incorrectly, check your cables for kinks you may have accidentally caused, you can also try moving the shifter base a bit, it may provide better shifting in a slightly different position. Check the big tabs on the cable brackets to be sure they are installed the correct direction, as installed backwards they can sit the cable forward a couple extra millimeters. Hard to trouble shoot remotely, but we don't have reports of issues with reverse in any of the cars we've installed them on, etc.

Thanks for the great DIY. After freezing the bushing, they went in without any problem. Imaginary rep points all around.

The original 07+ civic specific cable bushing design was drawn and engineered by us, the other people making 07+ bushings are copying us or the design is slightly different. They are solid replacement pieces, and honestly, both will do the job equally.

Hope that helps,
Tai

The short shifters are all also very similar, ours is a comptech knock off from when they went out of business, we starting picking up where they left off, only for them to return as CT.

SS was VERY easy to install. I didn't even need a tool, just used an open ended 12mm wrench and it popped right off with a bit of force.

bushings on the other hand.. it was probably my fault since I didn't sand them down a little bit, but it took alot of effort to get the larger one in. the small one went in like a hot knife through butter

Nice DIY. I did have a good bit of trouble trying to fit my 12mm down onto the bracket farthest back short bracket bolt with the cable in the way. If anyone else is having this problem, you can probably take out the cotter pin and slide the big cable end off the pin first, which will allow you to move the cable to the side and give you room to get a socket in there.
