just installed my Hybrid bushings tonight and the larger bushing does not sit flush on the metal underneath, is this normal?

I just finished installing mine and the bushings fit just fine. I didn't have any issues with the larger bushing. Does your bushing move around at all?

i helped a friend of mine back home install these a few months back and i just got them for my car the other day we had his on in about 30 min or so no trouble me i had to beat the ever living **** out of the bushings till they would seat. im not one for use a bigger hammer method but i have been a mechanic for almost 8 years now and never had so much trouble with such an easy to install part. and i work on dozers what take 9 days of washing before you can figure out where the leak is comming from jesus.

Ah ok, I had no problems when installing the hybrid racing bushings. Did you notice an improvement in shifting? I noticed that it was easier to get into gear.

I installed the Corsport busnhings today... disappointed with the fit of the larger bushing. The smaller one was perfect going on the cable and pin. The larger bushing would not budge going into the cable, OK going on the pin though. I had to persuade the bushing into the cable with a 1-1/8 in. socket and a hammer. I positioned the bushing on top of the bolt to the right to the of the shifting assembly to tap the cable down on to the bushing. Figured other members could use the tip. The shifting is definately more firm and direct. Good use of $30.

This week, I installed my CorSport cable bushings, CompTech short shifter, and CorSport base bushings a few days apart from each other, in order to feel the difference in each upgrade. The cable bushings definitely had the biggest impact. Reverse especially takes a LOT of force to get to now. Base bushings didn't seem to change anything. I still feel wiggle space in each gear, and 3rd gear still sticks sometimes. However, shifting is certainly not as mushy. Thanks for the tips!

Since I couldn't find pictures of CorSport base bushings installed (there are 6 to install instead of 3 for the TWM bushings), here are some pics.

I dumped CorSport for the Hybrid Racing bushings, which are much better in feel.

Corsport cable bushing were my first upgrade the small bushing went on with ease but the larger bushing took me awhile to get into place but got them installed and probably a month and a half later that larger bushing snapped the shifter cable right at the loop. So now i see it as if you have to use extreme force to install them then they arent worth risking!

Installed the Hybrid Racing shifter cable bushings today. The post I made in my build thread shows every step that I did.

OMG that looks beautiful! I am definitely doing this to the 07 Civic Si Sedan that I've had for less than a week.

Are the Hybrid Racing bushings really that much better? And is it worth the extra dough for the base bushing?

Sorry for double-post but I don't see an option to edit my post. Is that really not allowed on this forum?!

i have the hr shifter and base bushings. improvements are slight. in my opinion this is one of those cheap mods that everyone can afford and do yet result in not much of anything. sounds better in theory than real world....(like a wing on a front wheel drive car for downforce) would i do it again?....not the base bushings...total waste of my effort.
