Saturday Night Live banned Soros skit. Why?

First amendment rights?

NBC owns the rights to that skit. They can ask that it be removed. This has nothing to do with First Amendement rights. Please get a clue.

Please explain to me how someone wrote a script, acted it out, filmed it, released it, decided...eh, maybe it's not that funny...maybe it was in bad taste...maybe we don't want to release this after all, and then pulled it from public view is against the freedom of speech.

NBC didn't say you couldn't talk about the skit. NBC didn't say you can't THINK about the skit. They own it, they have the rights, anyone who shows it without their permission is actually breaking the law.

How is NBC at fault? PLEASE EXPLAIN? I'm ignorant to your logic, I sincerely would like to know.

Wait a minute...I'm not on any side. We are talking about what they want to show and what they don't want you to see.

Not only NBC but other outlets. Come on let's think about this and for ourselves.

YouTube - Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis?

I think you're ignorant refusing to look up facts. And it's all over the web not breaking the law.

I'm told this forum is closed minded and can't think for themselves. Prove them wrong.

pop, we should be able to agree no matter which news source it is they are going to show you what they want you to see. MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX, Comdey Central for that matter..... They are both ways....

SNL isn't a news show. It's a satire show. NBC owns the rights to the content on SNL. NBC can request that SNL content not be hosted or shown anywhere. They own it. It's their own property. Just like I don't want my underwear shown to the world, NBC can ask that no one host the skit.

Where's that breaking the First Amendment?

What facts am I supposed to be looking up? I looked at your links talking about how NBC pulled the video from a comedy show. Not a news show. COMEDY. I Googled "NBC Ban" and found more information about this.

I'm still not sure how you can justify this as breaking any Amendment to our Constitution.

Again, please explain.

Let me get a crack at this , if i may

Its ok to make fun of Palin but make sure that you do not point out the Dems for the housing crash.....Hence the Sandler's.

Look at it again. Maybe the Sandler's did not enjoy the skit and made them take it out. The truth squad strikes again ?

I pointed out my most obvious question. It has yet to be answered.

I've done my research. I've seen nothing that says Sandler requested it to be removed. I've actually not seen anything with any real content. Most stories I've been able to uncover have simply focused on the fact that it has been removed. Then they link back to the Malkin article, which again has no real content other than the transcribed skit.

So my question is, how does this violate Amendment Numero Uno?

I agree, how is this violating anything? The first amendment is freedom of speech, not freedom to make someone tell us something. So NBC decided not to air a skit SNL wanted to do, so what, it's their network. I do it on a daily basis when part of my lower brain tells me to whistle at that foxy lady in the bikini, but the rest of my brain quickly vetoes that idea.

You got it wrong...they did air it but took it off after the fact.

BTW: I did say why it was taken off. Well IMHO anyway.

Side note: I am not saying that it violates anything but i do wonder why was that particular skit taken off. See The Truth Squad......
