Saw my first Mugen up close today...

All I can say is... DAMN. I know why people would pay more for those... except for the exhaust (I don't like rolled tips) that car is friggin' hot! And yes... now I really want the rear wing... even if it is $1200... :)

Home Depot in Euless at 183 and 157.... anybody want to own up to it?

I don't think I will like it... but I didn't like the sedan until about 5 months ago. Only like them because of JDM/CSX conversions though...

They are sexy cars, however with a $30K price tag, I'll stick with the regular Si.

Exactly... for the extra $8000 you can buy and swap almost every exterior part to JDM and get them painted. Id much rather have a FD2/FD5 (Type-R/CSX-S) Body than a slightly modded Si.

edit: Does anyone else think the CSX-S has some SEXY seats?

There nice but wouldnt pay what most dealer ships are asking for them. Rather do my own upgrades with the extra money.

I thought about it but found a 2008 Accord EXL V6 6speed MT and went for it. Couldn't see giving more for a civic. Love the accord so far much more comfortable! and has much more power that the Civic si. Was just a pain to find one with a V6 and 6 speed MT.

after talking about it some... I think I have come to the conclusion that although I really like SOME of the Mugen (wing, rear skirt, side skirts, suspension) as a whole, it would be a waste for someone like me... I don't care for the wheels... the front lip... etc. I think if Honda REALLY wanted to justify the $30K price tag, they should have slapped the CSXJDM front end on the car and really done somethign special... then... and only then... I may have been swayed into spending $30K on "just a Civic"...

I actually found the owner of the car today... his name is Chris... seemed like a cool guy... and didn't seem too worried about somebody oogling his car... I told him about 8th so maybe he will come by...

Well it was not as expensive only $28,945 after freight/shipping. Just did a road trip to Hilton Head SC. Was a much nicer ride. I like the feel and sound of the 3.5 V6 I think Honda did a good Job. The 6 speed MT seems to shift nice as well. Not quite as hard as my 06 Si. My last fill up I got 26.65 MPG. If I was to drive slower and after I get some more miles on it I think it will do better. Took it back to Rusty Wallis for first oil change and they put the oil filter on so tight I had to punch a screwdriver through it to get it off. As easy as it was to reach I couldn't get it off with my hands or oil filter wrench. They also put my oil drain plug on so tight I had to use vice grips and a mallet to get it out. The boxed end wrench stripped it. I will never let them change my oil again.
