Lightbulb State Meet in July... ideas, etc

So, going by the Texas Roll Call thread, We've hit 100 members of this site in Texas. We'd like to get a meet going in July that is open for all members of 8thcivic in the state regardless of what you're driving.

We're gonna need a big area somewhere central. So far Austin and Lake Travis have been brought up as possible areas. Ideas on locations and dates are welcome. Anyone who may have a contact or hook up in that area (like big shops, business or someone who owns a massive parkinglot) would be great.

Post up brainstorms here.

yea that just gets confusing, and with the gas going to high i dont know if a long drive is really worth it, or even the part of directing traffic. i think a sit and something is good?

That will work too, I'm up for whatever.

If we do this whole sit down and eat thing, then we need to make arrangements with a restaurant as well.

I couldn't agree more with this... there is nothing wrong with BYOF and just let the people hit up some fast food before meeting up together... and depending on the turn out, reserve a room at like Fuddruckers or something for dinner...

i think restaurant is a great idea, but you have to realize that we will be more than 100+ because people will bring their wife, husband, kids, and whatever else. so the party size may actually be closer to 150 or so. i dont know any restaurant that could produce sitting for this many people. maybe a rudy's stop for BBQ and take the whole fckin thing home (not in my car hehe) and sit and eat at another place?

any thoughts?

Is there a Dave and Busters in Austin? We can call it the 8thcivic Texas state meet and fast and the furious game show down.

I'll try. Have we settled on a city yet? I vote Waco/College Station/Austin. They're both pretty centrally located.
