there's a place in Carrollton that does wheels with a 1 day turnaround for 50 a wheel i think.. that's an option if you don't want to hassle with it but i dont think anyone in the area had done their own wheels as far as i know.. maybe Casey can chime in here about a place

The place I used is in Kennedale and it is REALLY far from Denton... but they did top notch work.

I noticed my OEM tires are going bald while washing the car today... so it may be time to PC my stock wheels too... I would love to do black with an ornage lip like the TA red lip wheels... :) but I don't know if the PC people can do that...

do you have a number for them? i go out to kennedale to the track occasionally... the distance isn't a big deal; i just need to see how long it would take for them to do it... can't be w/o the rims for long...

PC can do the lip Casey, they do it basically the same way you do it with paint. One coat, then the other with some tape. (maybe some special tape... haha)

Paul's powdercoat does it for like 200$..I hear the customer service isn't the best though. Use at your own risk.

I know someone in the metroplex that has done their own wheels. If you aren't set on powdercoating, then painting them really isn't that hard. There are plenty of DIY articles out there. Follow one of those and you should be fine.

As long as you can spray decently you'll be fine.

1. 400 grit sandpaper sand all wheels down
2. wash soap and water
3. primer
4. paint
5. clearcoat
6. let dry/bake

Top Koat in Kennedale... did an excellent job with my orange wheels... first PCed in white then the orange to make them REALLY pop...

Top Koat Custom Powder Coating

With the race season starting up, the turn around right now may be a bit slower...

Chris... The RPF1s are my 2nd favorite wheel... but they are the ones I want for the Civic... my fav's are the RPM2s, but I had them on the Suby and they took longer to clean than the whole car... :)

All these places sound great..but 200$ for 4 wheels for paul's seems pretty unbeatable. They don't do two coats like top koat however and top koat seems to have considerably more options.

You will find that all of the shops charge ABOUT the same... Top Koat charged me $70 per wheel since there is two layers of powder... I am sure that Iwill end up spending about the same for my next wheel change up...

That really isn't bad. What was the turnaround time? I wouldn't mind waiting too long, but my car would be sitting on jackstands in the garage until they're finished. Sadly, no one I know has spare 5 lug wheels w/ tires for me to roll around in the meantime.

Really, if you think about it, even if you were to pay $100 a wheel, it would be worth it in the end as long as you get QUALITY work. Don't cheap out on something you'll regret later.
