Holy Hailstorm Batman!

A hailstorm just rolled through here and it was crazy. My girl and I stepped out and sat on the front porch waiting for the storm to get here and all of a sudden the clouds just started hauling *** over us.. then all of a sudden all the clouds on top of us were green.

We sat there for another minute and a blast of cold air came through.. then I heard the scariest thing that I've ever heard in my life. It sounded like a million people stomping on a hollow floor. As the storm got closer that sound was just all around us, like we were trapped.

Then it started hailing..

I only got to snap a couple of pics inbetween the "waves"

By the end of it (it was raining to hard to go out and snap a couple of pics) it looked like it had snowed outside. I don't mean like you crazy fools up north kind of snow, but Texas snow. Just west of here it was softball sized hail, but it had died down by the time it reached here and the largest that I saw was golf ball.

I haven't been able to see the damage yet.. I'm more worried about the proyekt car than anything..

This was definitely scarier than about 12 years ago when we had softball sized hail come through and break out every window of every car that was parked outside.. Anyways, if any of the other texas members have any pics/stories post them up.

*twitch twitch* we're getting an alarm right now....like, right....now....though according to the forecast it's just a severe storm alert.

EDIT: I suppose "take shelter" means i shouldn't still be here? :P

EDIT 2: Based on what we had a week ago, how could they possible set off alarms for THAT?! Maybe it was worse to the west, but where I live we got nothing. Some thunder and a bit of rain.

If I were you I would check on Dallas-Fort Worth News | WFAA.com and click on "My Own Radar," after that click on the track & hail buttons to see if it might hit you.

God bless Texas weather, eh? It was an awesome day today.. Overcast, but 75ish degrees all day long. My girl and I went to the museum and rolled around with the windows down for a while.

Storms outta nowhere, swift wind, green skies and hail... you're lucky it was only the hail ya heard. I was expecting you to say,"....scariest thing we ever heard.... like a locomotove barrelling down on us.."

That cold ain't the weather, it's death approachin'.

It actually did sound exactly like a tornado for a while there.. But then it got a lot louder than any tornado that I've ever heard, and I lived in Dallas when the crazy number of tornados hit there.. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they say anything on the news about a tornado touching down close to here. I know at least one touched down for a short period of time west of here, but the town I live in is kind of a valley so there's not much of a chance of tornados touching down here.

every gas station i saw had cars parked under their covers, i myself parked my girl's car under a valero awning for at least 20+ minutes, the hail was itty bitty by the time it got to arlington, but i'd much rather be safe than sorry wiht fijisan (her car)

A buddy of mine posted up at the parking garage in Hulen Mall.. He said that he didn't see any hail there.

i was over on 30 and eastchase, and it was barely pea sized when it got to us, but like i said, much rather be safe than sorry, but god forbid the hail had knocked out a window, we have been talking about getting the windows tinted, and for all the claims adjustor would have known, they WERE tinted....hmm...baseball practice anybody??

hahaha.. Yeah, I'm hoping that I have damage to be honest. After my accident a while back the body shop (Frank Kent) did a HORRIBLE job repainting my car, so I would like to be able to get my car repainted.

I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it actually did leave any damage. When it hailed about 2 months ago I was at school and it didn't so much as leave a scuff..

Hide the car and watch the radar man.. If it's anything like it was here it'll probably leave damage..
