Stupid redneck hicktown cops!

So I got a ticket, AGAIN. 60 in a 50. What's stupid is I've been through there NUMEROUS times, and never saw this sign that is now up stating the speed change. I knew it reduced, but I'm almost positive it wasn't as far back as it was... in any case, I have already taken DD, but now am getting the SHAFT by this small town court.

Casey - Deffered Adjudication doesn't work (for me) like it has for you apparently. Not only do I have to pay $50 MORE than the ticket for DA, but I STILL have to take another DD class. So I'm out $220 + costs for a class, and I'm on 90 day probation for QUOTE "The Entire United States".

F*** cops.

How old are you? I klnow there have been some changes to the law for those under 21 (or maybe 25)... I have not had to deal with them so I don't know them. That is what I have heard though... you have to take DD for probation if you are under the age limit... i think it makes it more clear that you have been on probation in the future and would let other judges in other juridictions know that they may "need" to hit you harder... sad to hear.

Yeah she said since i was 20 I have to take the classes... pffft... this should be fun.

Whats really lame is this d-bag of a cop gave me a ticket less than 200ft inside the limit sign, at 11:50pm on a SUNDAY.... i mean really, no slack at all? It's not like I was booking it hard. Then to top it off, the ass had loud music bangin from his car, and then when i began to take off, he rockets around me and does at least 60 (I say sixty because when he whizzed by me I was already doing 30ish) through a 30mph town. I think he was trying to speed up there to hide again and see if he would get me twice... ass. (No lights or siren, so he really shouldn't have been speeding at all)

^lol..

Calm down killer.

Anyways, what town was this in? I see that you're from Ft. Worth, there are definitely little towns in Ft. Worth that you NEVER speed in. I refuse to drive through Westworth Village.. I will avoid it at all costs. I don't care if I have to drive 20 minutes out of my way, I'll do it to avoid that damn town.

some cops are just jerks. exp. if your car stands out over others.

unless i get reved at or a flyby i always do speed limit.

saves gas anyways

pantego and dalworthington gardens are the two worst "hey i'm a douche cop" towns, but in all honesty i've only gotten stopped twice, and usually let off with a warning, but they can be anal about some things, with the new light laws, and exhaust sounds on friend's cars....not so fun

I'm actually out of Ft Worth now, just never changed my profile.

As for all you high and mighty "i never speed" people, well thats great for you, but i've got places to be and 10mph over ISNT worth $220. That's just ridiculous.

The cop was doing his job, you were speeding. Try taking ownership for your actions and direct the anger accordingly.

Oh I'm sure you would be thrilled to shell out over $200 for a speeding ticket! Regardless of him doing his job (even though no one cares to pay attention to my SECOND post which is the only reason he pissed me off), he was very unprofessional (as many cops in these small towns are).

Also, if you want pics of my car, just google search a 2002 Type S... my car is bone stock with a few dents (thanks to the previous owner and my grandma)

sorry to disappoint all those who think the cop was just doing his job, but if you stop to consider the purpose for speeding tickets, which is revenue, then his JOB doesn't seem so purposeful...

as much as everyone would like to think that speed limits are a measure of safety, we all know they are set well lower than they should be in many places, and the primary reason is money. same goes for red light cameras. they aren't there for safety, but as revenue generators. case in point: dallas county. they have removed red light cameras from all intersections which have proven not to be financially beneficial. the incidence of serious accident resulting from those running red lights had gone down significantly at each of the locations, but because of that, the city did not make enough money as a result of them being there...

speed limits are the same... they are purposefully kept at the low standards set during the gas crisis of the 1970's in order to generate revenue. its just another way to tax individuals (although cops seem to think they are exempt at all times, although they should watch out in the future: Montgomery's Finest Won't Pay Fines - washingtonpost.com)
