lost a clutch today....

it sucks, my clutch just died... no gear catches, not even reverse, the car starts, but doesn't move, if any body saw an FBP on a flatbed today, it was probably the one i drive, and this all happened right as i was on my way to put the steeringwheel red h on, and paint my calipers red, but my clutch pooped out on me

There was no reason for mine to die like it did... It pisses me off that I had the car for eleven months and then BOOM... No more clutch. It also doesn't help that I took it to the dealership I bought it from to fix it (because of my warranty), and they are all complete dicks there. I mean, NO customer service... Assholes.

drving like a grandma != being good to your clutch.

you can drive it liike a maniac and do pretty much no damage to your clutch. likewise, you can let your clutch slip all the time in efforts to shift smoother and wear it down fast.

I can make you feel better. I had 1040 miles on my car when my clutch died. 1575 for parts and install. Never letting people drive my car again.

In a nutshell

I never abused my car, clutch goes out at 31k. I have it towed. Honda will not say i abused my car and will not say I didn't. They never showed me the damages nor any ecu info. they wanted to charge me $1450 + tax. I asked them to split 50/50. They said they wouldn't. They reduced it to $950. I paid it and filed a claim with the BBB for Honda's poor service, quality and customer service. A week before the hearing, Honda caves in and refunds me back another $500. **** Honda I win

help meet mycar died on the hwy

And btw Honda of america was totally useless. I hope nothing but bad things happen to that lady that phucked me over the phone and would not help me. I may be an ass on the boards, but I'm terribly polite and professionaly on the phone and with people I deal with face to face. I ate her for lunch on her satisfaction survey and HONDA could care less until the BBB got involved.

i'm just pissed the extra warranty i paid over 3000 for doesn't cover the ONE part that's broken, i skipped third maybe....35% of the time, to avoid the dreaded 3rd gear grind, and look where it got me, phucked in the a with an Si that won't move....yay honda....boo clutch problems....

(upon thinking about it, boo honda too....)

Hell if you skipped 3rd gear $35% of the time, that's not good.

Skipping gears can wear a clutch out faster if you dont try to rev match... your clutch will be trying to spin around 1.5k and your engine may be at 5k.... time and time again that wears the hell out of the clutch.
