i read alot about goodson west fixing 3rd gear problems. How bad do the problems have to be?

I have grinding and sometimes hard to shift into, but never pop out yet.

can i get fixed or have to wait longer?

mccall fixed mine, well made mine better just from the grinding. They said they couldnt reproduce the popping out of gear. The replaced my 2nd and 3rd gears and syncro set as well as the shift fork. Made it better but the grinding was still there, just not near as bad. But I dont have to worry about that anymore.

well... over this past weekend i let my younger brother borrow my car. he has a problem with slipping the clutch and just down right burning it... so he told me that he was shifting into second and when he was stepping on the gas, the rpms just climb. damn clutch slipped and is ******* dead. i was able to drive it.. i made it in stop and go traffic but that thing didn't move much at all.. i looked like total jackass in stop and go traffic revving when i was barely moving and whenever i was on the highway cruising without my foot on the gas, the rpms would just drop all the way down to 1k. this thing was gone. i pulled into the dealership and they didn't even want to drive it, they pushed it because the clutch was pretty much gone from riding it in traffic and on the highway. bill, the service advisor said he'd look at it and start working on it.. he's coming through for me again. hopefully i won't get a call telling me i have to pay for it because he didn't mention anything about paying. my last part for the third gear fix is coming in on wednesday so hopefully i can get all fixed up and provided a rental sometime soon.

unfortunately buddy unless they find that your clutch was faulty, you will have to pay. that is under wear and tear items not covered by warranty. be prepared for 400 or so bill.

OH man that sucks bad...yeah be prepared to pay some $..might as well check out some aftermarket clutches maybe?

Good deal on the 3rd gear parts...I rarely have problems with mine since I have SS,Bushings and Amsoil so I dont think I will take mine in unless it becomes a major problem.

But 07civic i bet that tore up your alignment pretty bad huh? probly bent something.

Javy, I might be getting a job at the cyber motor cars on northpark with Michael Henderson working as a tech.. i can let you know if we get any sweet 4x4's lol

Im taking it in for alignment this week, got 2 wheels on order, I looked under the car with my friends heavy duty jack and noticed the driver side stablizer endlink was twisted all up, so I went ahead and ordered one up from hondapartsdeals.com $20ish. Tire rods looked good, Ill just have to wait to see what the alignment shop says...When looking at the car from the front the rear driver side tire seems to chamber out more than normal, I know the stock chamber is a lil on the negative side but this is noticeable. Anyone know if this is just corrected by an alignment or is there something I should look for before hand incase I need to order a part?

damn Brooklyn, is sunworks helping with the cost of all ur mods or u got deep pockets? Haha

As for the dealership and clutch, he is right not covered unless he pulls some big strings for you. Factory clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, and labor will be more like $1200+. Now if they cover most of the labor under fixing the gear problem, then all u have to do is pretty much buy the parts u want, $600+ depending on what u want.

On the camber thing, not much more u can do unless u busted a strut too. I would think it can be fixed with what u already said ur gonna do.

Keep in mind, directional tires make it pull a little to the right.

Where the hell has Aaron been?

****.... they took apart my transmission and 2nd gear is totally gone... the gears for it are shredded and theres not even any teeth on it left. clutch is dead and the transmission case has holes in it from the material of 2nd gear being lodged everywhere... total fix... $2300.... what the hell am i gonna do? my dad went down there and started talking to the owner of the dealership and the service manager.. they said they were gonna call some big dog down there to determine if they'll do the fix or not, as of now the car isn't even able to move without 2nd gear...
