need help with digital cameras.. opinons?
I looking for digital camera that can get almost professional quality pictures but be small enough to be in my pocket like any normal digital camera. One of my friends showed me a cannon 1000 (i think was the number) EPLH. Anyways i'm gonna trek out to best buy tomorrow.
Can you guys suggest some good cameras. I'm not afraid to spend 200-250. |

Tough one to answer. I am a Canon guy too, although recently made the move to Canon's DSLR line.
I am sure a great photographer can use a point and shoot camera and make professional looking pictures. Although, you will get great shots from the point and shoots, you will just have alot less control than if you went to low end DSLR. Since size is a concern and priority for you: Look at this site for Canons point and shoot reviews. They are extremely helpful and they go indepth with their reviews. The site is tricky to navigate at first, but you should be able to handle that. DPreview You can even do side-by-side comparisons and such. Last edited by Xtreme Thunder; 05-05-2008 at 09:03 PM. |

Canon or Nikon. Depends on who you like, I've liked my little Canon point and shoots, but I prefer Nikon in the SLR range
![]() Like extreme said, you can take professional looking photos with the point and shoot, its just not nearly as flexible. I have a 5 year old 2mp Canon point and shoot and a lot of people that see the digital shots I've taken in the past with it swear I have a lot nicer camera. Look at Canon's PowerShot SD790 IS or PowerShot SD870 IS or of such in the upper model line there. |

True, my brother has a DSLR Nikon and I've got a point and shoot Nikon, don't know the model number off of the top of my head but it wasn't cheap, but also wasn't awesome. His camera catches colors, especially metallic colors from cars much better than mine, and other point and shoots I have used.
