Windows XP Service Pack 3 can be downloaded.

Source

Finally everyone can download the SP3 for Windows XP.
This link(316MB) will redirect you directly to the file in windows update.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 will not include any major new features, but it will include four minor new features that improve the system's reliability and security. Contrary to reports, Microsoft has been very up-front about these functional additions for quite some time now.

These new features include:

Network Access Protection compatibility. Announced years ago, this feature allows Windows XP machines to interact with the NAP feature in Windows Server 2008. This functionality is built into the RTM version of Windows Vista as well.

Product Key-less install option. As with Windows Vista, new XP with SP3 installs can proceed without entering a product key during Setup.

Kernel Mode Cryptographics Module. A new kernel module that "encapsulates several different cryptographic algorithms," according to Microsoft.

"Black hole" router detection algorithm.

XP gains the ability to ignore network routers that incorrectly drop certain kinds of network packets.

alrite posting this just in case..

When i installed this i had booting problems after the blue screen

While booting it would restart and bring you back to the blue screen repeatedly.

I fixed this by going into "Safemode"

Then regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYTEM\CurrentControlSet\Service s\Intelppm\Start

Then change the hexadecimal to 04.

Am now using SP3! w00t!

i suggest you print this out before restarting after installation of sp3 lol.

Good read if you have a HP AMD laptop. This explains some blue screens or endless reboots with SP3.

The Hotfix - Vista SP1, XP SP3, IE8, Home Server, and more! - XP SP3 cripples some PCs with endless reboots
