I just wish more console developers would focus more on creating original games that take advantage of their medium rather than try to consume games that are better suited for the PC. FPS games work on a console... but they're really better suited for a keyboard and mouse, but they sell. So instead of innovating they pull from what works in the PC world.

Thats one of the things I like about the Wii... sure it still has its share of FPS games, but at least its control method is more innovative, and comes a step closer to a mouse. That and they focus on gameplay (generally) over making it look awesome with little to no substance. What I've always loved on the consoles was RPGs... and those have gone the way of everything else focusing on graphics it seems. I havent played one I REALLY got into since probably Xenogears/FF7. FFXII wasn't bad, but it still pales in comparison to the old 2d RPGs of the SNES/Genesis.

I totally feels ya man. But not just RPG's....look at Metal Gear Solid on Playstation. I had always played games just like any good little nerd, but MGS is what made me a "gamer." There was a perfect balance of story, gameplay, and design that is just lacking these days. And don't get me wrong, I love playing games like COD and Socom(well..Socom not so much anymore, but that's a different rant lol) I think that many gaming companies have lost their vision, and all they can see is the almighty dollar in this post Halo world.

Why hasn't buying Ninja Gaiden Sigma been mentioned yet to the PS3 owners!? There's slight changes of gameplay and nerfing of Ryu's movesets that it's actually hard again. LOL.

Metal Gear Solid is also on the horizon....which...frankly speaking, is giving me a chubby.

No Sony console had amazing launch titles or games for more than 6 months in, IMHO. So...just be patient, those story-driven games will come. In the meantime, buy yourself Okami for the PS2, pop it into the PS3 and enjoy the visual and story-driven feast.

Wow that sucks. What part were you stuck at? I love that game. The gibberish voicing (just literally gibberish) is annoying, but just the overall themes and such are excellent.

Some games are written for the PC and ported to the console COD4 for example. Playing an FPS on console is the same as driving a car without a stick, sure its viable but its a horrible experience. Plus the COD series was meant more for the Multiplayer experience.

Sure PC gaming is more expensive but save some Nintendo games (old and new) there isnt any reason to go console over PC.
pc games ftw and there cheaper than ps 60$ vs 50$i know not a big diff.. but its still alittle cheaper

That wasn't necessary for you to do.

IIRC, he gives you that karma stuff. Nothing worth doing. I believe you're at the part where you'll be fishing for a dog, but you'd have to find a small cave near that lake, near the bottom, towards the south.

Killzone 2
Socom Confrontation(onlin only game)
Tekken 6
Street Fighter 4
Haze
Metal Gear Solid 4
GTA 4

and the list goes on, there are many good games coming out with great gameplay and graphics, you just have to know what games to buy and what games to skip.
dont forget battlefield badcompany.

i will be the first one to admit that the ps3 has a suck ass video game library. yes, you are correct about story modes in game today stuck. example, timeshift was fun but the story was wayyy to short and the ending sucked balls
keep in mind that GTA IV is SUPPOSE to have a good story and a decent online. hopefully GTA IV will be kickass and set the bar for future games

I thought you said you were stuck.

The little side-stuff is fun, but mostly unnecessary, IMHO, as the game does have a "New Game +" anyway. What's tough is some of the Beads to get that Invincibility + 20x Strength. Especially doing that puzzle where you have to place dots in the correct places on the wall...the last one is 8 dots. LOL. The race through the haunted forest in the snowy Northern areas got quite frustrating too.

I think there's plenty of great games out right now. I have a PC and a wii, but i use the PC for most of the gaming.
Crysis is amazing, I'm playing it through for the 3rd time right now. And the story line to it is excellent, also it's pretty long. It disagree with ths statement that it needs SLI. I am running one 8800 and it runs very nicely. However it was BRUTAL on my 8600, so i honestly cant imagine the game even being playable at the minimum system requirements.
Assassins Creed i just got yesterday and have hardly been able to stop playing.
COD4 i played through twice, it was amazing as well.
NFS Pro Street I am slowly getting through, it fills the gap amidst my FPS addiction.
Quake4, BF 2142, TF2, Half Life 2 Episode 2, even FarCry is sitll awesome.

The problem is that you got a PS3
