What is everyone doing with their HD-DVD player?

I guess I'll keep mine. At least until I get a PS3...

I heard a rumor that Best Buy is taking returns on all of them though and will replace them with a BR player of equal... status?... Is that true?

why would best buy do that? I hope u dont seriously believe that. Its not their fault u bought an hd-dvd player so why should they eat the cost of switching u over.. If i had an hd-dvd owner i would pawn all that shit asap. Its not gonna get any more valuble.. " Hd-Dvd Coming soon to a garage sale near you" lol

Circuit City is doing it, but I highly doubt BestBuy will.

I had an upscaling DVD player before my HD DVD player and I think I like my first one better, the HD DVD takes forever to start up and on anything not HD DVD it won't upscale because it says its prohibited. Toshiba FTL

Toshiba had set for select retailers to accept returns and get full refunds on the HD player. They aren't doing exchanges, just returns.

even then they take a pretty big hit. Im surprised they are willing to do that. I wonder if they have a date of purchase requirment from january to present. Otherwise i'd see everybody that bought one bringing it back to the stores just to get their money back.

I'm keeping mine. Time to go buy Battlestar Galactica and Heroes box sets, since it's probably really cheap now.

I believe its 30 days from date of purchase that you have to return it. Even then, its for a store gift card, but its better than nothing.
