It would indeed be fast enough to break the sound barrier, just rolling on a dyno.

Im planning to get a watercooled system for it or something. I just dont want to buy an alienware. Way to much money.

can anyone just help out.
Sorry to revive an aging thread....but I MUST KNOW how you plan to watercool a laptop. I've built a few watercooling systems in my day, but have never even heard anything of the sort. PLEASE LET ME KNOW......oh, and I'd also like to see that "chip".

I'd also like to test out the portability of the laptop once you hook up that watercooling rig. A couple liters of cooling liquid & a pump are things everybody needs to be carrying about in their bags these days... 'Cooling systems' for laptops

You sound like a contender for the macbook 'air' it's almost idiot-proof (until they want to put a DVD into it)

Macbook Air is the biggest rip off since.. well.. a $600 iPhone.

I'm still waiting to hear about this "mod chip" for laptops.

wow @ the amount of ass hattery here. Modfying a computer is quite a common term in the "dorky" yet fun gamers clique on the internet. The term usually refers to adding fans and graphix.

EXAMPLE below

more on the above mod here Blackmesa HLČ by piloux ..:age made by Whabbit::..

Also overclocking is sometimes refered to as modding. The term modding/mod'ing means MODIFICATION.

Now the original poster maybe a nub but lol @ the rest of you know it alls.

I build/mod/overclock/ custom gaming systems as a hobby so I know exactly what I'm talking about. I have a degree in computer science and know ten times more about PCs than about cars. Overclocking is NEVER referred to as modding.....however, modding does usually refer to custom case building such as your HL2 example above.

And before you posted, you really should read the OP's posts in this thread then you'd see why we're questioning him. He says he has a "mod chip" and wants to watercool his laptop. Since he refuses to answer us...and you're so smart....why don't you answer for him?

"nub" and "clique" I don't really mind. I use "nub", myself. But, those are just sentence modifiers and such...which aren't necessary. But, "grafix"?

...No offense to grafixpressions, of course.

But, yes j0ntar, about 99% of the posts in this thread are all jest. Because remz doesn't ever post proof.

What I still think is the best custom case:

Graphix is just habit for me these days. It came about because i use graphix as the image directory on most websites i put up or help out with. I apologize about the lack of sense when typing that.

I've been in IT since before you were driving cars and attempting to chase around the ladies, but this is a car forum and we need not argue IT related subjects.

I understand where you're coming from j0ntar, but for a moment you might want to review the posts in OP's past before you pass judgement.

You'd be surprised at how many people here are either in IT or enjoy modifying computers as a hobby. I ripped apart and rebuilt my first computer @ 13 years old and have loved it every since. I'm close to getting my associates in Computer Networking at the moment and spend a lot of time (I have no job at the moment) just playing around with my desktop. I'm actually getting ready to run linux on it.. But that's neither here nor there.

I think I can safely say that most of the people that posted in here were just joking, especially at this phantom "mod chip" that boosts performance in some way. Which, btw, I still would love more information about.

Anyways, Welcome to the site man and enjoy your stay. I'll go ahead and warn you about how much people joke around here, we're all pretty much a big, lighthearted family. I look forward to seeing you post here for a while.

i like how people are making fun of computer modding that know nothign about it.

sure it has a nerdy connotation, but in comparison to car modding its far more lucrative.

looks:
people actually make pieces themselves, do all or most of the fabrication and labor. how many people do you know that make body kits or just buy premade and often even pre painted ones?

performance:
this is not even funny. you can literally make your computer calculate numbers twice as fast for only a few hundred dollars or less if you fab your own stuff. think maybe 10-20% of the total you think you can turn the Si into a 7.5 second car for just 2-4k? nope.

Again, most of it is just joking.. The thing that really stood out was the mod chip.. Well, at least for me.
