They do it because they're desperite. And I can't stand linux because I've always had to search or create my own drivers. IBM is in the hole. My friend used to work for them and before he retired they stopped all their pensions. Dell is a lot like IBM and I can see them in the same situation pretty soon. Alienware was a smart move though.

I don't understand the handful of people hating on the Bluray format and the PS3. This is just an example of "slow and steady wins the race". Instead of rushing their product to market without doing like longevity testing (think Microsoft's ~35% failure rate on the 360), Sony got all of their ducks in a row before releasing their product. Because of that, they set themselves up for success. Because the PS3 was reliable, people accepted it as a Bluray player. If Microsoft had postponed the 360 and integrated HDDVD and done better testing then perhaps it would Sony pulling the Bluray format.

And you can't teach a dumb punk kid to read either. I have the experience in the industry, working with manufacturers, learning about future technologies, understanding the way things work... you get on CNet and read reviews and think you know what you're talking about. Plus if you would actually learn the English language, you'd realize that at no point in time did I ever say I worked for BB. I was saying you probably do as you sound like one of the morons who heard a rumor and spread it as fact. Get over yourself. You know as much about what you're talking about here as I know about being a poor black man in the slave days.

Why sony would include HD-DVD, that is like imacs coming dual booted with XP from the factory or Xbox 360 with support to PS3 games.
There is no need to give support to HD-DVD is just common sense. All those people with HD-DVD their only way to stay with their collection is to buy a combo drive/player or stick with their current appliance or convert those movies to BluRay. Last edited by Shark Tek; 02-25-2008 at 06:54 AM. |

Damn, I would have said it a different way, but Toxis certainly knows much more than the average consumer when discussing most technology topics. |
