I got the 9400 for the hinge but after a couple months it's annoying talking with it open, either that or you have to open it, dial, then close it. I do agree the razr was shit, I grabbed it as soon as Verizon got it but soon returned it for the Moto E815, but the Krzr k1m and the rizr z6tv both ran the Verizon gui flawlessly for a non-LG phone and I had no problems with them except I got bored with them. The Venus is just pure crap, complete plastic, the screen feels like you're going to poke through it, the touch screen was slow as was the menu screens. It was a great idea and I think if they put some more effort into it and didn't try to save so much money by using cheap materials it could be a great phone.
But regardless my Samsung now is one of the best phones I've had in a while, might be sticking with them so long as they keep coming out with some more innovative things. Not to say I completely write off LG phones, I've had two after my 8700, nor do I completely write off Motorola either. On average I don't keep any cell phone long enough to have major problems with them anyways. I did keep the Moto K1m for a good 4 months and aside from cracking the glass front I didn't have any major problems with it, it's still around too I ended up giving it to my mom. I love all cell phones, it just erks me when people call out Motorola and have never owned anyone besides a RAZR and thusly assume all Motorola's suck. |

I had the Motorola E815 for two years. Phone is just too buggy. Anyone who had this phone notice that if someone sends you a text message, the alarm won't work until you clear the message? What is up with that? That made me late to work several times. The charging plug stinks, and didn't charge the phone half the time; it's terrible as a music phone, when it is low on battery it likes to go into infinite restart loop mode, the camera quality sucks, the camcorder mode is limited to 30 seconds regardless of how big your memory card is, and it likes to take pictures of the inside of my pocket. That's why I hated the E815. The Venus is also fairly lame. It is HARD to text on this phone. The predictive texting mode sucks.(LG calls it Word, what the hell ever happened to good 'ol T9en?) LG likes to make it REALLY hard to send a text message. Gotta go to messages, then select text message, then select Add, then select contacts, then select a contact, then hit "done", then hit "ok", then type message, then hit send. WTF. This was at least two steps shorter on my Moto. MOST of this is fixed now that I own a LG Voyager. Expensive ass phone, but MUCH faster screen loading, and it doesn't have the stupid "you pressed a button, now I must respond slower than your grandmother" attitude that the Venus has. The Venus is SO laggy, and does not have very good reception either. At least the Moto never dropped a call. Seems like the Voyager fixed BOTH of these problems though, so it just might be my favorite. But EVERY phone has problems. Has anyone owned a phone that they loved in every way? I haven't. We'll see how the Voyager performs.

I have another predictive text gripe. I love to use swear words in my texting. Why do they all say "duck" or "ducking" when it is VERY obvious what OTHER word I wanted? It doesn't even offer the alternative. Thank god for phones with QWERTY keyboards. Whew!
