Which digital camera should I get?

After Christmas, I'm going to be in the market for a new digital camera. I'm stuck between two camera's:

the ultra thin Sony Cyber-shot T70:

and the Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd:

Both seem to have similar specifications, although the Cyber-shot is all touch screen and roughly 150 bucks more. Does anyone have experience with either of these cameras and know which one is the better bang for the buck?

I would go somewhere you could try them both to make sure you like the touch screen on the Sony. If they are similar specs I would say get the one that you like the feel/operation of better.

I've been going to different stores wanting to try them both but by some weird coincidence, the Sony Cyber-shot never seems to be working no matter where I go (including the Sony Style store). The Fujifilm one is nice but I want to try messing with both camera's side by side.

My wife and I have a 3.2 megapixel camera. Similar to the ones you have in the pic. When I made photos at wal-mart they never looked too good. When I took the same image to my brother in laws 200dollars photo printer he made a 8 by 10 photo of quality liked I'd never seen before. I mean I was blown away! Sooooo. My advice is get the cheap camera but spend some money on a decent photo printer.

dont get a sony..... and dont buy a "cheap" camera either i just got a canon sd850is runs about $300. 8mp i like it a lot. very nice pix. U dont have to spend as much as i did to get good quality. just look around. hey check out amazon.com. thats what i did and it helped out. they have good prices on and users post up some of their personl pix taken with whatever camera you are looking at so u can get an idea of what to expect..

I used to have a Sony T-50 which is just about the same camera, last years model. 7.2mp, 3" touch screen, etc. Actually was a pretty good camera, quality for a point & shoot was good, the zoom sucked but it was only 3x optical. Touch screen was fun and made things pretty simple, especially looking at the pictures later. I doubt you'd be disappointed with the newer one.

I'd add the Olympus 770sw into your search as well. I like the fact that its both waterproof and shockproof.

We just replaced a Nikon Coolpix (lens broke/got stuck) with a Casio Exilim.

Decent specs for a ~$150 point & shoot in a very small package. I'm impressed with the pictures so far. I use a Pentax *ist DL digital SLR & for general point & shoot type stuff the little Casio works just as well. At about 5oz & <1" thick it's a very easy camera to tote around.

im not a big fan of the casios. they are alright, but id rather go with a canon. sony's have been getting a lot better too. if you want a slim point and shoot. the t-70 is nice.

canon makes a great camera. Powershots are very good and offer tons of good features.

you also might want to think about what you are going to use the camera for. for example with a slim point and shoot such as the t-70, you wont have too much zooming capabilities or manual functions. unless you are willing to go for the bulkier camera with the extra zoom and manual capabilities such as shutter speed and aperture. but like i said, if small and slim is what you want, sony is a good brand
