Ummmmm... wait. Whoever added the poll screwed up! DLP is not tube, it's rear projection and tube is a whole different technology.
This is not something that can be answered without knowing the situation. They all have pros and cons and the answer will vary depending on who and where the TV will be located. 1. Is budget a factor? If so, how much for what size? 2. What do you use the TV for? What do you watch? 3. How close/far do you sit to the screen? 4. Is there windows anywhere facing the TV location? 5. Do you want a TV you don't mind replacing a bulb for or do you want something maintenance free? 6. Do you want or ever want to be able to hang it on a wall? That should start it... |

if playing video games you want dlp. plasma has chance for burn in most tvs have a white out feature that corrects most burn in bt its not a guarentee. if you sit off to the side of the tv you want lcd or plasma if there are windows you want lcd or dlp. plasmas have a glossy screen shield dlp you need to replace bulb apx 5k to 8k viewing hours. about 2.5 to 3.5 yrs lcd can get dead pixels. dlp can never be hung on the wall. lcd and plasma can. now in my personal experience i got a lg 47inch 1080p. and love it.i can hang it if i want, bt i use a stand. great picture.and it was resonably priced since i get it at cost. i work at Best Buy, |

should have saved us the time and started with this. Explains the inaccuracies.

If playing video games, DLP? Not really. You do realize that Plasma is as if not faster than most DLP TV's in terms of response? Do you also realize what makes a plasma burn in? It's not video games. It's any static image. Now if you're ONLY buying a TV to play one game and one game only, then you'll get a bit of burn in and won't ever know because you wont change it. Burn in is as big of an issue as not having enough inputs. It's so rare, it doesn't even need to be talked about. Plasma's "Glossy Screen" is what we like to call glass. Ever heard of it? LCD gets dead pixels? And plasma doesn't lose pixels? What about DLP? The mirrors never freeze? I have more problems with dead pixels on DLP over any technology out there, but Plasma is the least common but it still does happen! There's been a few rear projection/DLP's made that are capable of hanging on the wall. LG isn't a bad brand but there's soooo much better looking TVs for a very small amount of money more. Panasonic or Samsung plasmas are cheaper or I'd spend the few bucks to get a Sony LCD. Coming from the install side of things, I don't understand why LG made the mounting holes on the 47 and 52" models so god damned far apart. It requires a bigger mount then their 50" plasma. Retarded design for a lighter TV. Best Buy is a good place to get your feet wet but they clearly don't do enough training which only hurts the industry as a whole. Sad really. |

I have 2 Samsung plasma TV's, a 42 and a 50. I love them both to death. I had a Sony LCD and the plasmas bloew it away as far as picture quality. The 42 I've had for about 3years now and I play my 360 on it regularly. It has no burn in and from my own experisnces, I've found that watching staic programming like a sports ticker-tape or a TV guide channel, leaves more ghost images them video games.

Its a tough choice between all these diffrent tvs! I like the picture on plasma, but it runs hotter/uses more energy than lcd and cost more to operate. I also might hook a pc up to it, so plasma probally not what I want.
Is there really a huge diffrence in 720 or 1080 p? Both tvs are still HD, but the 1080 has a little bit more pixels? |

I have a 56" Samsung LED DLP 1080P. Did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on this one. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. (taking size, quality, price, and durability into consideration). Furthermore, being LED powered means no replacing a bulb!! Also, it double as my pc monitor. Like I said before 56" PC monitor FTMFW!!
