Yea. Along with the other information I offered that is based on articles written by experts. Im not making this up.....

LCD actually is brighter, however because Plasma has more vivid colors and deeper blacks it looks better, and the LCD tends to look washed out. Because LCD has trouble acheiving true black, the colors do not appear as bright against the not quite black backround.

Who has the concept monitor which combines the features and capabilities of the lcd response time and design, plasmas high contrast and a dlp interior image processing technology? Supposidly it has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Pretty sure it's dynamic though.

Like I said before 56" PC monitor FTMFW!!
I used to have the old silver Samsung 56" 1080i DLP TV. One day it just got dimmer on me. I called Fry's cuz we have the 5 year warranty. They picked it up, said its gonna cost them too much to repair, so they're delivering a 56" LED DLP 1080p TV for me on Sunday. That things got bluetooth too. It's not like i'm ever gonna use bluetooth headphones, but i guess its nice to be able to have that option.

I loved my old Samsung DLP though, the picture was so nice and I wasn't even using HDMI, I had my dish box hooked up through component.

I think this is the only time a warranty has not been a waste of money for me. I'm so happy we're being upgraded to 1080p. I'm pickin up a PS3 in a couple of days. Blu Ray BABY!

Whether you get the 2yr 3yr or 5yr warranty it's def worth it. You're never gonna know what'll happen. Had a 5 yr warranty on a notebook. Had 3 issues with it. Some within a month of eachother. Fry's was happy to give me a brand new one. New technology baby!!! Screw shipping and handling and waiting. Time is money. 07' civic si with 5 year warranty. Worth it whether I decide to void it or not. Sorry, everything I have breaks on me.

I say LCD, read a few articles when I was about to buy a HD tv. Lcd are cheaper, less fragile, last longer, and weigh less if that matters. Although Plasma has a deeper color to it.

ive always liked lcd tv.'s they always looked better to me with the ps3 or the 360 ive also heard that with plasma if a bright image is displayed in the same positon for an extended amount of time that the image gets "burned" onto the screen and youll see the ghost image, oh and that plasmas need a recharge after a couple of years but i think the plasma is wayy better than the dlp those tv.s IMHO are complete crap theyre hard to see in different angles and the color isnt that vivd to me.

Newegg.com - MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC WD73733 73" 16:9 Black DLP Technology 1080p Rear-Projection HDTV

Anybody see this? 73" 1080p DLP for $2600 delivered?

i need another TV like another hole in the head, but that's gotta be the best $/inch out there!

I wonder how good the picture is on it?

Target has same one online for $2750 but they don't have it in their stores. I kinda like to see one.

most retailers will have the Mitsu these days, if not the 73 they'll have the 65 which will look the same. The 73 is pretty good but it's still DLP.

PS - Sony and Samsung announced they will be getting away from their rear projection TVs and focusing strictly on flat panels. Enjoy your DLPs as they won't be around much longer.

Well since the TV in my bedroom died (26" 1080i Samsung tube), I just got a 42" 1080p Sharp Aquos LCD yesterday with a free $500 Blu-ray player as a replacement.... all for $1100 + tax

I have a 50" Samsung DLP in the living room and this Aquos just looks soooo much better. Looks like I'll mainly be watching TV in my room now.

I'd say you got a damn good deal then! Great price and a free bluray... nice. Which player did you get? The Sharp model or did they give you another brand?

Scales of economy had better start to work agressively in the consumer's favor soon then. While I don't expect a flat panel at the same size as a RP DLP to be priced 'close' to each other, the current premium for a 60+ flat panel is out of line if the option for RP sets becomes unavailable.

LED DLP FTW! The only drawback is that you can't really mount it to a wall, but the picture quality is better than LCD/Plasma IMO.

Just be careful, some older dlps had a lot of problems with the spinning wheel causing a "rainbow" effect. I've noticed that on my old dlp during fast action scenes.
