I like playing spot the mac while watching TV. Youknow, since most of Hollywood seems to use them.

Seen a few on CSI: Miami.

Do you mean if there's a hot key to get around hitting the submit reply? If so, Crlt + S.

Just a regular Macbook (white) user here. Too poor for the pro.

I do share the wealth, all you have to do is ask. Keep in mind... I also live in Canada - and shipping sucks. So does customs... and government... and just about everything else. but if anyone needs anything, do feel free to ask.

OH, and I have a 4 Machines currently in operation at home, the pimpiest of course being my MacBook Pro 2.4GHz 15" with 4GBs of ram and a 200GB 7200 RPM drive.

I am probably buying a MacBook sometime next week.

Never used Macs before in my life. Give me the run down of what I should do and should not do!

Aww man I wished I couldve gotten a macbook, but my dad offered to buy me a laptop for college and he was adamant against mac, which is odd because it came out to the same cost.
but i do love them Macs.

same here! i got mine about a year ago now. 2.16(?)GHz CoreDuo 80 Gig hard drive, gig of ram. i love my machine.
it's funny though, i've altered the layout of my finder windows and my safari browser windows where i don't show the address bar, and the action buttons are gone as well because i use keyboard shortcuts for almost everything. so now my girlfriend hates using my computer because she doesn't know any of the keyboard shortcuts, so she just gets frustrated when she can't even figure out how to go back to the previous page or window. haha

In all honesty, I could probably train an orangutan to use a mac. It's that easy! Just mess around on it for a few hours and you'll get the hang of it. The only thing you have to remember is that all your applications are on the bottom of the screen lol.

Hmmmmmmm That stinks, so basically even if you get it at cost, between customs and what not it defeats the whole purpose.

No...

I just mean, that just 'cuz you ask me for a price, doesn't mean that's what your gonna pay. There is a lot of margin in the higher end stuff, no so much in the MacBooks - etc...

this is pretty true.
i've used pc's all my life, and when i got my mac i just spent the weekend messing around with it and all the programs and jumping into and out of folders and navigating in general, etc., etc.
- by the end of the weekend, i was incredibly comfortable with my machine and haven't really been surprised or been stumped as to how to do something since. its a great OS.

i downloaded "SuperDuper" for backing up my mac. i have yet to use it, because i don't have an external HD to use, but when researching backup programs, it consistently received positive reviews.

After you've had a chance to use it, post up... I've been using Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable (backup) image of my HD on an external drive. The thought was to have a pristine copy of my whole computer, with all apps installed, etc. should I ever have a major issue, but so far I haven't needed it. I usually re-do the CCC before I defrag or run some kind of major system maintenance (Disk Warrior). I also run manual backups of my important stuff on a weekly basis, and backups to DVD about twice a year.

What's everyone else doing?
