Hi. I have been a mac and ipod fanatic for years and am working on becoming a civic fanatic as well.

I have an imac and black macbook both running leopard. My imac dual boots into vista and my macbook dual boots into XP. Both run parallels. I also have an old orange ibook running gentoo.

I just purchased an 08 Si three weeks ago. :)

Well, i'm new to this thread. but like the rest of you guys, i love my macBook.

I've grown up around windows and the second i got to college i got a macBook.

and now i have a MacBook (black, 13''), 32gb iPod touch, 8gb iPod nano, and ya. im all about apple now.

question though, i've read up on the new Leopard software, and was wondering, if i bought my laptop about 3 months ago, does it have the latest system running on it or do i now have leopard now?? thanks for anyone wanting to help me out.

I'm new to this thread too--but I'm also a big mac fan and also have a black macbook.

If you just bought it new three months ago, it should have come with Leopard.

Out of curiosity, does your macbook get fingerprints on it really easily?

Ok maybe some of you guys can help me before I have to go to the Apple store again or to a dedicated Mac forum. I just got a 4th gen nano and the Genius playlist, is exactly opposite of what it implies. I haven't come across one song yet that it actually worked on. It says I can update it from the iTunes store but I haven't been able to find any thing that updates it. Anyone have the same problem and found a way to update it?

I'm not too sure what to tell you. I just updated my iTunes this morning and i have yet to figure out the Genius toolbar so ya, the apple store may be your best bet.

If your talking about on the keyboard, sometimes the space bar and other common letters appear a little oily looking but if your talking about the screen, i havent had many problems. i just take the bag to my Oakleys, and wipe the screen down and that works great.

I just finally got around to installing Genius in my itunes. It took it at least three hours to sort through my entire collection. I have been challenging it with some of my most obscure music all day, and it's recommendations are not so far off. I really like the "Top Songs You're Missing" grid--since I obsessively collect music from some of my favorite bands.

I love how it is the opposite end of the spectrum as pandora. Now that I have two slick tools recommending music, my wallet is absolutely going to loose more weight . . .

It's probably because my poor little macbook is two years old, so it's got some strange finish on it. From the day it first came out of the box, every time I touch it, it leaves nasty fingerprints. Pretty much, it always looks like I eat fried chicken and use the poor thing at the same time.

My car ipod is an older 80gb black. It has the same issue with the fingerprints.

Maybe this issue ought to just be another reason to go pro . . .
