Wii, PS3, XBOX 360...or computer...

Hey everyone!

So, tomorrow is black friday and we all know about the crazy good deals out thier...

Im thinking of getting a gaming system although to tell you the truth its probably a waste b/c i dont do alot of gaming esp during the school year...now on the other hand i do have a brand new (4 month old computer that is already amazing) that i could use money towards simply beefing it up to put it over the top as far as gaming goes!

Right now my big interest is in the Call of Duty 4 game and games along those lines like Halo. I also play sports games like madden (what i am playing)...

The Wii is interesting to me b/c of how your actually involved but im not sure how long that would last haha...

So any suggestions would be great!

Well, Call of Duty 4 is a very cool looking game (played it tonight on 360), but the most fun to be had right now is Super Mario Galaxy for Wii.......can't put it down! Though seriously, CoD4 & Crysis has me REALLY wanting my PC now!!!

I'm trying to put together a killer PC right now.

Killer PC > 360 (AWESOME games, they just happen to look and play better on PC) > PS3 (Cmon, NO GOOD GAMES, what the hell is it good for? A PC can do everything a PS3 can, except better)

I have both a Wii and an Xbox 360 (yea I'm a huge dork). I bought the Wii because I was in a store one day, and I saw it on the shelf! I couldn't believe I had just found one sitting there, so I took it as a sign that I should have one and bought it. It was fun for a while, but quickly got boring. I found myself wanting regular games and game controls. So I saved my money, traded in all my old video games and systems (except the wii) and bought a used 360, and it is amazing. There are so many great games, and it looks amazing. For longevity sake, I would stick with the 360, but the Wii is definately a fun time, especially with a bunch of other people around! Just my two cents!

^^ Exact same thing happened to me. Walked into best buy where they had literally received 20 Wii units about 15 minutes earlier. 11 were left and I snatched one. I got an extra controller, Zelda, Mario and Madden 2008.. I've played the system for MAYBE 10 hours total since I got it a few months ago. It just gets boring quickly IMO. The 360 I recently acquired for free is where it's at :P

The wii is awesome and everything, but it gets old after a while IMO. I mean, no one wants to get off of a hard days work and jump around with a controller. At least with a 360 you can actually sit down and be lazy, and isn't that what's so great about this country? lol.

I found myself battling between ps3 and 360. After doing a good deal of research ps3 was the winner for me. Reasons being= better graphics(big plus in my book), reliability, Blue Ray has alot more support than HD DVD at this time, and imo better choice in the long run.

I think that if you have the money the PC is the best. The games tend to look better and have much more customization options. The PC can offer pretty much whatever control option you want, joysticks, mouse/keyboard, even Xbox 360 controllers. The PC is also the only real option when it comes to strategy games. Plus the games tend to be cheaper when first released and drop in price more quickly that their console counterparts.

However, there are several reasons why I have a 360 and not a gaming PC. Hardware and software issues and compatability problems are never fun when all you want to do is play the latest game without having to spend 20 minutes on-line looking for the latest drivers and updates. The initial expense is generally much higher than a console. Though the games tend to be cheaper initially and drop in price quickly there isn't the vast used game libraries at most game stores like there are with PS3/360/Wii.

if you want a device just for playing go for the ps3. But you can't put it in the same category with the computer...which does way more than just playing games.I have both,honestly just for expenses reasons I would take the comp=free cracked games you can download online rather than paying 50 bucks for each new game you want to play.

Call of duty 4 on 1080p HDTV on Playatation 3 For the win. i have a playstation3 and love it, and for those of you who say there are no good games out for it, there is.. and many more will come out next year. am on the interent right now on my PS3 and i just got a 32 inch HDTV on sale that supports 1080p and OMG call of duty looks so good, i play resistance fall of men and it looks horrible comprare to call of duty 4, wish looks better on the PS3 then on the 360, another thing you will not have to worrie about is getting the ring of death..

despite what anyone might say, it really depends on what games you like.

With the exception of the XBOX 360 (which does some stuff like a PC and some stuff like a PS3) they all achieve VERY different things.

tell us what you like to play. i personally have a PS3 and PC and couldnt be happier with the selection of games. (ok thats not true, Super Mario Galaxy i want)
