Well I just bought an Ipod touch 16 gb! Thought it through and decided that I dont need the space of the classic(i already have 4days of music at 1500 songs) and that this thing is just cool.

Is there a way I can AIM through the touch?

What are a few good apps?

Anything I should do to it? (jailbreak? <dont even understand what it is though)

Is it possible to save videos(from youtube, the barney soulja boy is priceless) for when there is not wireless internet available?

if there's really something you need to listen to on your touch, and you couldn't fit it on, flip wifi on and youtube it.. can't get better than that...

under settings>general>about if your version is 1.1.1:

get on wifi with your touch n go to jailbreakme.com then after its done, use the installer. That should get you started.

Jailbreaking allows you to install 3rd party apps on the touch since Apple currently only allows web apps.

Nope. On it right now. It might be a warranty issue.

I am actually having a couple of annoying problems on my second day with my 16gb ipod touch.

-Whenever listening to music if you get online and the ipod takes to long to load the site the music will stop. When you double click the button to bring the music player up it will show the song is paused. When you hit the play button again or next song button it will end that playlist and shuffle all of my songs. (That annoys me that it ends my playlist).

-It has trouble playing music during simple tasks on the ipod such as setting an alarm, or changing a setting. Both stop the music, and when you try to start the music back up again, it shuffles all of my songs.

Other than that its been pretty cool! If a webpage makes it struggle though it will send it back to the main menu. I have had to reset it once though.

Anyone else had the problem with the music hopping out of the playlist to all songs?

EDIT: It just happened while I was flippin through album art. It happens whenever the ipod feels overloaded. And I had to restart my playlist .

I've never had that problem, do you have it on random shuffle of your whole library? If there are too many songs in your library that may be what's causing it, since it probably has to keep all those songs in some sort of memory, instead of only having 14 songs in memory by playing just one album.

Yeah i haven't had that issue either.
One issue i do have:
Say i listen to some album on day 1. Then days 2-4 i am listening to a bunch of other stuff. Then suddenly day 5 i turn on my ipod and it loads into the album i was playing on day 1. The damn thing never loads back into the album you were listenging to when it is turned off, except when this happens, only catch is it does it like 2 or 3 days LATER!

weird.

^^^ kinda late...

About the memory thing: It's not the flash memory I'm refering to but the system memory. If you choose shuffle of your entire songs, say 1000 songs, the iPod has to be "thinking" of all those songs for it to be able to randomly pick from it. So when you have it doing all that, then try and do some other intensive things, that's when it slows down.
